My body felt light and I couldn’t feel my body whatsoever. I open my heavy eyes and I soon regretted it. My heart started beating faster. The leopard was crouched down beside me. I felt my heart beating like crazy. I tried to move my body but it was pointless. The leopard leaned in even further to me. It open its mouth as it got closer. Drool started falling on the ground.  It got closer and closer to me.

It bit me. The leopard bit me. I wanted to scream. The pain was inseparable. I open my mouth but nothing came out. I felt my fingers grip to the ground to the point to where my fingernails where digging into the ground. My vision was getting worse. I felt the leopard sink its teeth further in. I felt tears fall down my eyes as I felt my consciousness going away.

“Cantalia, stay close to me,” Talia states as she pulls me toward her. I recognized this place. This was the first day that I came here with Talia. I kept walking with Talia until we were almost in. That’s when I noticed him. I saw a boy staring at me from a window. It was Night. What was he doing there? I saw him leave suddenly then something happened that I don’t recall seeing. I saw a girl a few years older than Night suddenly staring down at random kids. She looked miserable. I walk into the building with Talia.

“Are you okay?” I open my eyes to look at a worried Asher. I didn’t feel any pain. I look at where the leopard bit me there was no blood, nor a ripped shirt.

“Didn’t I get bitten by a leopard?” I ask. Asher looks at me confused.

“What are you talking about? You almost died from poison,” He looks at me with concern.

“How did you get rid of the poison?” I ask as I sit up. My head slightly throbbed.

“I had the antidote so I just injected you with it,” Asher simply explains.

“Thank you,” I slightly smile at him.

“It was nothing after all if something did happen to you Talia would kill me,” Asher slightly shudders.  Yet he looked happy by just mentioning her name.

I shudder as the cold air hit my body. I slowly got up and look at my surroundings. Laru was sleeping on the ground a few steps away from me. She was shivering in her sleep.

“Laru, wake up we need to keep moving,” I shook her shoulder. She grunted at my command. “You won’t get breakfast if you don’t wake up.”

“I’m up!” She instantly sat up. She was still tired but never less awake. I give her a green apple and she devours it in one bite.

“Why is it so cold?” I ask as I tried to pull my jacket closer to my body.

“I don’t know are the having temperature problems?” Laru shrugs as she finds another jacket and puts it on.

Since we separated with the others we have had a much more favorable experience. Not that many people have attacked us and the only thing that has affected us are these weird temperature changes. Although I find myself constantly worrying about the others I have a feeling I know why we were attacked so many times before.

“Do you think we are going the right way?” Laru suddenly asks me. I look at her for a few seconds before answering her.

“I honestly don’t know, for all we know we could be going back to the beginning," I truthfully answer.

“Should we get up on the bushes and look to see if we’re going the right way?” Laru asks. I thought about declining the offer but I felt like it was a smart idea. I sigh. I put my hand on top of the bush and pull myself up.
