The dagger was already half way in the air when I heard a tiny screaming voice which caught my attention, and made me pause a bit.

"Help me. Help!" The voice seemed to be coming closer.

Splash! The body fell into the water not far from us. Quickly, I rushed to pick up the body and I was amazed by whom it was. I knew who the person was. It was Alex. But how did she get here? What was she even doing here? She wasn't suppose to be here.

"Alex. Alex" I repeated, shaking her to consciousness again.

Her eyes slowly grew wide as she saw me.

"John? Is that you?"

"Alex, why are you here?" I asked without hesitation.

She exhaled deeply and was ready to talk.

"I don't remember much." She paused. "But I do remember trying to meet up with you guys, to tell you guys something suspicious I found out about Roman."

"Something like what?"

"Like I said, I can't remember." she replied, touching the back of her head.

I took a good look at the back of her head, and I found out that she had picked up a knock, and that must have made her forget.

"Are you sure you were not bitten?"

"I wasn't. I'm fine." she said, defensively.

"You know," I exhaled. "now I know you were in danger, so you wrote those words on the wall, right?"

"Right." answered Alex.

"What did you mean by if you're reading this, it's too late?" I asked, referring to the writing on the wall.

"I tried killing one of those zombies, but it won't just die. John, things are getting out of hand. I'm getting really scared."
She sobbed a little, allowing a tear to drop down her eyes.

"It's not over yet." I hugged her.

I'm not gonna lie, hugging her was so sweet. Even though I knew it was not the right time to fall in love.

"John, you're squeezing me."

"Oh sorry" I stammered, as I released my arms around her.
I tried to forget that ever happened.

"How's he doing?" Alex said, referring to Mark.

"Not too well." I replied. "He was bitten."

"We better get going." she suggested.

"We were running away from zombies , so I think there's no going back.We just gotta move forward."

We continue to move forward until we reached a point where we saw three sewer tunnels. One pointing left, the other pointing to the right, while one was right in the middle. We were left in confusion over which way to go.

"It was obvious you were pursued by a zombie. Which way did you come from?" I enquired from Alex, who seemed to have forgotten everything.

"I'm not sure."

"Okay, let's go through the middle tunnel." I said, deciding to take the leadership role.

We went through the middle tunnel which was really narrow. We hadn't gone too far when I heard a slight screech.

"Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?" they both asked.

"Shh!"

The screeching got louder. Certainly, the whole place was zombie infested. Anxiously, I shone my torchlight at the wall. There it was, a zombie, leaning on the wall with its face down to the ground as if it was dead.
