Emily POV
I awaken early in the morning and make my way down the stairs. I find Benjamin and Charlotte in the front of the house.
"As lovely as this has been, I must leave." I say walking out to meet them. Benjamin sighs and gets up shaking my hand.
"Thank you for helping save my boy."
"I just wish I could have done more." I say looking down with remorse.
"No you've done plenty. If you need anything please feel free to contact us. I still owe you."
"You owe me nothing Mr. Martin thank you for being so hospitable. If you need me I have a small house about five miles away. You'll know your there because it had a huge lake in front of it, you won't see the house until you get close but it's clear west of here five miles, as I said."
"Thank you." Benjamin shakes my hand once more and I make my way from the house wishing I'd have brought my horse along.
Gabriel POV
I walk out from down the stairs and see Aunt Charlotte in the parlor (totally just made that up btw).
"Gates and the Continental Army are at Hills Burrow (don't think I spelled that right sorry). I'm joining up with them." Father and Aunt Charlotte look my way.
"Gabriel." Charlotte says.
"Your place is here now." Father says.
"I'm going back. I'm a soldier it's my duty."
"Your duty is to your family." I walk away.
"Don't you walk away from me boy!" Father exclaims stomping after me.
"I'm sorry father. I'll find you when this is all over." I continue walking.
"No, no you're not going! I forbid you to go!" Father screams. I stop and turn back and look at him.
"I'm not a child!" I yell back at him.
"You're my child!" He yells back. We both breath heavily for a moment.
"Goodbye father." I say back and walk out onto the front porch.
"Thomas is dead. How many more have to die before you'll heed my word?" He asks I turn around and look at him. Then I just leave. I look up at my brothers and sisters on the balcony. We must've woken them with our yelling. I ride away on my horse away from the only people that have ever held a close space in my heart.
