Chapter 5 part 2 - Don't Wanna Go Home

I look at her with jealousy.

She's dancing with that freaking dork, Ian! How can she dance with him when she could have danced with me?

I take a deep breath and calm myself down by thinking that she hasn't seen me. It has to be that, since she hasn't met my gaze all night. I am sitting in the far corner. And she does seem kind of drunk. Even though I know for a fact that all she's had is two shots, since my friend is boss of the drinks. But when I think about it, she doesn't seem like the girl to drink much, so I guess that's why she gets quickly drunk.

I continue to watch her. She looks extra hot in her dark blue dress. I haven't stopped thinking about her since our first meeting on Wednesday. Opposite of some people, I noticed her a long time ago. I actually had a crush on her when I was eleven and she was ten, when she was all cute and shy. And I never forgot her. She was my first love.

Of course, she wouldn't know since I never had the courage to tell her or even talk to her when we were kids. And when the crush stopped I figured there was no point. I never talked to her after that.

Until Wednesday. When I found out she loved music too, it was like a sign from God. Maybe we didn't agree on most things, the best artist or the best song, or actually anything besides that music meant everything to us. But I had a great time discussing it with her. She looked like she enjoyed it too. I want to do it more. The question is if she wants to. With how she's looking now, it'll definitely be worth a try.

But maybe I shouldn't, because of... Nah. It'll work itself out.

Just then a voice says behind me: "So there you are! I've been looking all over for you,"

I rip my eyes off of Samantha and turn to look at Willy. I try to look like I hadn't kind of just undressed a girl with my eyes.

"Sorry," I say to Willy. "I wanted to find a more quiet corner."

"Good," Willy smiles. "I'm not so up for the party thing right now."

Willy sits down on the chair beside me, and starts to talk about the last football game and the expectations towards the next.

I try to look like I'm listening, while my gaze shifts over to Samantha over and over again.

I think I want that girl.

I walk into the living room slash dance room, and the first thing I notice is her. Samantha. She's dancing like a goddess.

The second thing I notice is that some dude is already dancing with her. Ian. Stupid Ian.

And the third thing I notice is Katie. She's standing at the opposite wall, glaring at me with fury, sending chills down my spine.

She's not gonna take the rejection so good, is she? Even though it's hard, I keep my gaze away from Samantha. I don't want to drag her down with me, if Katie is planning some "big revenge" or something. Sigh. Barbies.

So I walk to one of the walls and sit down on a chair, though all I want to do is run out on the dance floor and have fun with Samantha.

Much to my irritation I see that most of the guys in the room is looking at her. Everything from glancing to openly staring. Even that senior dude, Eric, though someone sitting beside him is clearly talking to him.

Not that I would blame any of them, because the little glimpse I got of her was enough to see that she looked extremely hot tonight. But for me it wouldn't have mattered what she was wearing. She's a nice girl who I have fun with, that's all I care about. Well, it isn't exactly negative if she looks good.

I look around the room. Nope, Katie's not here anymore. But neither is Samantha. A confused looking Ian is all that's left where she was just a minute ago.

Suddenly I hear a laughter suspiciously alike Samantha's. It's coming from the kitchen.

I hurry toward the sound, but freeze at the sight before me. Samantha has her head leaned all the way back... Already half emptying a shot. Wasn't she the one that didn't drink?

That's when I hear another laughter, and I see Hayley standing beside Samantha, watching her drink with an evil smile. I don't have to guess two times as to where the drink came from.

"Wha-" a voice begins behind me.

I turn around and see Ian looking wide eyed at Samantha, then at Hayley, then back at Samantha.

"I know," I say, totally getting why he looks so shocked. I turn back around. Hayley is gone.

"Hi Ialen!" Samantha giggles, after realizing she mixed up our names.

I walk over to her, taking her glass from her. Her eyes can't focus straight, and she's a little unsteady.

"How many shots have you taken?" I ask her.

"6 + 3 equals the answer," she says, then she giggles. "Oooops! It's 6 - 3!"

"Really?" Ian asks behind me, sounding skeptical.

"You don't believe me?" Samantha asks, tears welling up in her eyes. "I thought you were my friend!"

I look at Ian, and he meets my gaze, probably thinking the same as me. Jeez, she's an emotional drunk!

"Of course he believes you!" I say reassuringly. "He just didn't know that this was your first time drinking."

"Shhhh!" Samantha says, putting a finger in front of her lips. "You're not supposed to tell that to anyone!"

"It's okay," Ian says, stepping up beside me, wanting to help. "No one other than us heard it. We won't tell."

Samantha smiles big, showing just how good she looks, then she throws herself around our necks, hugging both of us at the same time.

"Thank yooooou!" She slurs, then she suddenly get's heavier. I look down at her.

She passed out.

"I'll take her to one of the emergency bedrooms upstairs," I say.

"No, you're not!" another voice says fiercely. Katie appears beside me, grabbing my arm. "We have a lot to talk about."

I'm about to tell her to go to hell, when Ian says: "Don't worry. I'll take her."

As much as I want to tell him no, Katie's grip gets tighter and I decide that I have to end things with her. Once and for all. She can't keep walking around, thinking that I want to hook up with her. And Ian and I are good enough buddies for me to trust that he won't do anything to Samantha.

Still, I stare after her as Ian lifts her up and walks out of the kitchen, with her in his arms. I find myself wishing it was me who could be her hero tonight.

I think I want that girl.

AN: Hahaha, now the good stuff's REALLY starting! And I just couldn't resist using different POVs, so here you go ;-D

Sorry if this chapter is a little confusing, but trust me, it's meant to be!

So, what I'm wondering the most is, are there any teams here yet? Team Alex, Eric or Ian, anyone? I bet some of you will change your mind when the story develops! We'll see. I have a hard time choosing a team myself...

The picture on the side is Ian by the way! :-D He's yummy!

Toodlepies!
