"I'm home!" Mom called as she walked in the door. "And I brought you a friend, Margo!"
"Wait, what?" I got up from my place on the couch in the living room amd went to the door where Pip was slobbering all over some girl's shoes.
"Go hang out," Mom ordered.
"Uh... ok," I said. Most moms would bring you home a smoothie or a muffin, but no, not my mom. She brings me a person!
Once we get to my room, I introduce myself. She says her name is Tara. We spend the rest of the night chatting and playing Minecraft. We go to bed around 10:30. I offered Tara so PJs to wear, but she refused.
Rustle, rustle. I open my bleary eyes to see the green numbers on my clock read 3:42am. Tara is standing up, pulling her big black sweater over her head.
"Where are you going?" I whisper through the darkness.
"Bathroom," Tara whispered back.
I nodded and snuggled back into the blankets.
