I shook in my coldness. The temperatures dropped according to the weather news and I could corroborate that. I entered the familiar building, hell in a single structure. School.
I tried to avoid the stares of the thousands of students that didn't bother to cover up their comments reflecting me and that horrible picture from last week. I thought things were going to dissipate a bit with time but my horrible show is still present in the minds of lots of students if not all.
The canteen wasn't really busy and I saw Aria sitting on our regular table so I disposed my way towards her quickly."Yesterday I saw the last Scream Queen episode" I informed her as I left my backpack on the table. "It was good" I continued.
She didn't answer, her eyes nailed on her notebook although by her facial expression I could tell she knew of my presence. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and I sat next to her slowly. She moved her body away from me trying to keep a big distance between us.
I frowned and wondered if there was something bothering her. "Is everything ok, Aria?" I asked finally resting my head on my palm.
The silence fell over our non-existent conversation as if were put on mute. "Callie I think we should stop talking to each other" She finally spoke avoiding to look at my face.
My facial expression dropped. "What do you mean?" I questioned, my voice filled with confusion.
"What I just said, I don't want to be your friend anymore" She replied firmly yet she didn't even make visual contact with me.
"But why?" I asked with impotence, confusion occupying my mind.
She finally looked at me and her eyes nailed on mines like sharp daggers. "Because nobody likes you, nobody wants to be with you and if I keep mixing up with you people are going to be cruel to me as they are to you, I'm sorry Callie but our friendship is dead" Her words felt like knifes continuously stabbing my feelings.
I stood up slowly and after a last glance at Aria I ran out of the canteen in direction towards the bathroom.
I don't know how much time went by after that. I stayed in one of the toilets cabinet, the one more further away from the exit. My eyes already formed a river of tears the second I stepped inside the room.
The only friend I had just broke our friendship, now it is official; nobody likes me. I pulled from my hair holding back the animal sounds my mouth tried to emit in the impotence of the situation. I have no one.Multiples footstep started to come closer. I took a deep breath to calm myself down and avoid any kind of unwanted attention. The doors of the bathroom opened roughly followed by a bunch of giggles and conversations.
A cold feeling slid down my spine as I could recognise the voices of Cynthia and her friends. I raised my legs and held them tight together against my body so they wouldn't be seen from under the cabinets door.
"The Moon Dance is just around the corner girls, any idea of who you are planning to go with" A voice spoke.
"Anyone from the football or basketball team would be fine" Another voice replied producing some giggles.
"Even with that new slender guy? Larry?" Another girl said disgusted.
"Oh my god, no! He is so ugly and unfit who would want to be with that insect!" The second voice spat increasing the laughter of the group.
"Maybe that freak, Callie Bitch-ton!" Another stated referring to me causing my ears to sharpen.
"That guy is more than what she could ever get, like she is going to die alone, she wont even come to the dance like who would want to go with that ugly cunt?" The first voice followed.
"Probably not even her parents care about her thats why she never goes out, like have you seen her clothes? African tribe children have more fashion than her!" Another one said provoking more laughs in the group.
A rather loud sob left my lips and my body froze since after it the whole group remained in silence. I heard footsteps heading closer and my heart started to throb faster and faster. Within a few seconds the cabinets door opened revealing the group of girls thats stared at me with surprise and evilness.
"Well, look who was lurking on our conversation" Layla, a chubby girl with green eyes said with disgust as she eyed me up and down.
"Look she was crying! Aww she heard what we said" Dana, another one from the group said uncovering her giggles.
"Please leave me alone" I spoke trying not to break into rivers of tears again.
"Girls I've got an idea" Nicole spoke before grabbing me by my shirt and pulling me out of the cabinet rapidly.
Dana and Layla held me still. I couldn't move at all. Suddenly I saw Nicole going to her backpack and carrying an object behind her back.
I begged to be set free with tears in my eyes. Nicole revealed the object in front of my face, a pair of scissors.
"No, please!" I cried as I moved my head repeatedly side to side to prevent her to get closer to me.
Nicole gripped on my clothes and started to cut the fabric. I gave kicks in the air trying to stop her but nothing worked. She then walked back laughing at her action.
"Give me that!" Cynthia demanded as she grabbed the scissors from Nicole's hands. She stood close to me and then grabbed a strand of my hair and cut it.
The girls opened their mouth surprised yet in satisfaction. Cynthia gave me a diabolic grin and started to cut more strands of hair while I cried louder.
They pushed me back and left me there. I stared at the floor for a second and saw parts of my clothes and lots of locks of hair. I touched my hair carefully as my hands were shaking. I looked to the mirror by the sink and my mouth dropped, I looked horrible. My hair was badly cut just above my shoulders length. My clothes looked like a design of a five year old girl. I covered my mouth and closed my eyes tightly together of impotence. I want to die.
