First...What is Islam?
Islam is a religion based upon the Quran which is a religious text sent to earth by God(Allah).A lot of people call us terrorists, which we are not, which is causing the hate between Islam and other religions. I still don't know where they got that idea from. And no, we don't believe in Shaytan(Satan) as our God.
It all started with Adam. He was the first human on earth, God ordered the Angels to teach him so they taught him. He lived in Jannah(Heaven). God said he could eat any of the food provided except for the fruit from the specific tree. Adam obeyed what he was told and didn't go anywhere near the tree. He was happy as he was and the last thing he wanted was to disobey God.
The next human being to be born was Hawwa(Eve), the rightful match for Adam.
Hawwa and Adam lived happily in Jannah. Everyone respected them and was nice to them, both Jinn and Angels. Angels were created of pureness and light while Jinn were more like human beings in the sense that they could make mistakes and made from fire.
One day Allah asked the Angels and Jinn to bow down to Adam and they all did so, all but one. A Jinn known as Iblis, who was renamed as Shaytan (Satan). He refused to bow down claiming that he was better than Adam and that he should bow down to him as he was much powerful. This made Allah angry so he was banished from the heavens.
After a while living in Jannah, Hawwa and Adam were tempted by something, an evil something. Years and years passed and they were both still tempted by the fruit. They kept being urged to take the fruit and being human and prone to making mistakes, one day they listened.
Adam reached out towards the tree, forgetting God for that moment, and grabbed a fruit. He then passed it to Hawwa who ate it. They had both eaten the forbidden fruit and disobeyed Allah.
Adam hadn't even finished eating when he realised him mistake and he fault such pain and guilt. He felt shame as if all the joy but just disappeared. They noticed that they were naked so they started cutting down leaves to cover themselves up.
This didn't make Allah happy but he forgave them because He is All Merciful. And he knew it was in fact Shaytan who had persuaded them and led them astray, whispering evil thoughts into their minds.
He told them that they must go down to earth and live their as they are no longer able to live in Jannah. He also told them how that if they need help they should ask and anyone who follows him will be kept on the straight path without misery.
And ever since their initial mistake, we have been living on earth, Adam as God's first messenger.
As all of you probably already know, there's so much going on the world today revolving around ISIS. Before that, it was the bombing of 9/11, leaving the Muslims looked down upon. None of them could go out without rude remarks and death threats.
And if just like to say that it is horrible what's happening to Paris and other countries! But then they bombed Syria back and much worse. I understand where they're coming from but it doesn't help stop the potential World War III coming.
Anyway, my point is why kindle the already growing fire?
On top of that, people aren't just blaming the terrorists, but they're blaming all the Muslims as a whole. I don't mean to sound rude but that's stupid. Our religion manly revolves peace as a whole. We didn't all have a role in this, we couldn't have. Islam literally means peace.
To make this clear, terrorist have no religion. Religion is about peace and a place you can go for guidance. Terrorist force you to believe in something you don't want to believe in. It's wrong to make someone do that just because they don't worship the same thing as you.
ter·ror·ism
ˈterəˌrizəm/Submit
noun:
the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.
Arabic Word for terrorism: إرهاب (iirhab)
Our people may have done bad things, but there is no such thing as a good and bad person. No one is lined like that. It's whether or not you choose to be a good or bad person. In our religion, God gave us a choice to choose. He let us choose our own paths, quizzing us on what we'll choose in the end. None of this life matters. In the end, it won't matter who has higher followers or is famous. That won't be accounted for.
It is against everything we stand for to kill of there isn't a full on war(Haram) Haram means not allowed and Halal means allowed(Kind of like those two Jewish terms I can't remember at the moment. Kosher and something?). We believe that if you do Haram things you'll get banished to the pits of hellfire. Every one of us has a change to choose right from wrong. It's not easy, but no one ever said life was.
