What Does Religion Mean To Me?

Well to me religion means a lot! It makes me feel safe that I know that the God I believe in is watching us, taking care of us, and making sure that we have a wonderful life. I can live my days being reassured that my God is watching us from heaven!

I've always had a hard time really distinguishing what religion means to me. Sometimes, I think, I don't even remember it's there until something comes creeping up on me that I feel I need to consult God for. Other times, it won't leave my mind, it's like a guard that's always there, never sleeps. There have been many times that I doubt my religion, am unsure if I really trust it. But I think it's safe to say that religion is important in my life, even if I don't always acknowledge it.

For me, religion has never been present in my life. I don't believe in any God(s), and that's always been good for me. I respect religion a whole lot; all those people coming together to worship is a beautiful thing, and they all believe in the same cause and the same ideas and they set themselves morals and pass it all along to their children.
However, when religion is abused, it is turned into an ugly, twisted thing, used as an excuse for bad deeds. I'm not going to bring up anything, but I think it's vital to remember to never over step our boundaries, and always respect other's beliefs.

  I just basically is a way of life for me. It's my belief in my God and my family's way of living. I go to church almost every Sunday with my grandparents to refresh my belief and knowing. Jesus is another person we worship. I'm going into Christianity here... XD! But religion to me is a way of life. It's my belief(s) but basically my way of living. Whew... that made me think lol X3!

Religion is what life seems to be based on. It's a way to cope with disasters, and a way to perform your hopes and dreams to someone who is listening, believing they can be a reality. It's something that silently tells you it's okay, because there is a small person who has done so much for you, and it tells you the future can exist because it will guide you. Even if I don't believe there is a god, for those who do, he is someone to help you understand and deal with with reality and become in touch with the world, and to assure crime doesn't occur, because it means you are sinning and such. To me it means happiness for my friends and family, and that we will go to a church that has a subtle safety to it, because everyone believes there is a presence. Its love.

To me religion is something that is the basis to how each of us live our lives. The choices we make and the things we do, are all links to religion in some way. It's a way of life and in more ways than one, defines us, although it shouldn't be the only thing to do so. It gives me hope and something to believe in, especially when I seem lost. It gives me a sense of belonging. Other than believing in something, following it, and caring for it, I don't think there's much more to religion other than peace and equality.
