Chapter 10
The weekend, well, both Lynn and Aaron spent it sitting at home doing their respective wallowing. Lynn, being the good girl that she was, was doing some advanced literature work, since she knew she was gonna miss that period for volleyball practice. Whereas, Aaron was busy stalking Lynn’s instagram, thinking that maybe he could DM her if she was posting, since she had blocked him everywhere else.
The weekend passed with the blink of an eye. Aaron called up Kiara to ask if she was picking up Lynn, Kiara said, “I know you want to see her, but give her some time, she’s not ready to face you yet. I’ll pick her up, don’t worry, she’ll be fine once she knows your true intentions, but give her some space for now.”. Aaron never understood what ‘giving space’ meant, but if he wanted Lynn all to himself, then he had to do what Kiara had said, he said “Okay, and when do you girls have volleyball practice, any idea?”, to which Kiara said she didn’t know, it depended on Lynn since she was the captain, but Kiara promised to text him before going to practice, before hanging up.
Aaron, surprisingly, in a very sunny mood, as he made his way to school. He went towards his locker, shoving his bag and books in, and glanced towards Lynn’s locker just opposite to his, just in time to look directly at her, she seemed to be in deep thoughts as she stared at Aaron. As she realised Aaron and her staring competition, she quickly looked away, ignoring the butterflies in her stomach as he threw one of his ‘weak-in-the-knee’ smiles.
“Heyy Lynn, can I talk to you for a second?” asked Aaron, his smile still intact, as he noticed her body goes rigid as she’s caught off guard. She turned around, shocked to find him too close to her, for her comfort. She felt small around him, he towered over her. She barely managed to say, “I can’t, right now. I have a class to attend, see you later, Aaron. Bye” before rushing off to find Kiara and go to class.
The day went awfully slow till lunch, atleast it did according to Aaron. He couldn’t wait for Lynn to walk to the cafeteria to see him seated on her seat, she usually went bonkers if someone else sat at her seat.
But today was different, when she walked into the cafeteria, Kiara was by her side, babbling about something, but Lynn seemed to be out of it, she had zoned out. After collecting her food, which was just an apple and a bottle of Gatorade, she realised Aaron in her usual seat, instead of getting mad, she simply slid next to Kiara, opposite to Aaron, trying to ignore the surprised stares thrown her way. She quietly munched on her apple, after finishing off her apple, she didn’t bother to take the bottle, and walked off towards the girls changing rooms, to prepare for practice. She had to vent out all her anger before her head burst with all the anger building up.
When she reached the practice area, the girls were still not here, lunch was still going on, so she just grabbed a couple of balls, and started smashing the balls, with as much force as possible.
She didn’t even realise the bell ringing, indicating lunch was over. It was only when Kiara walked upto her, avoiding the balls at full force, that she realised the other girls around her. “What’s up your ass, girl? You need to cool down, or your not gonna leave any balls for us to practice” Kiara could always make Lynn smile. “Oh, and there’s someone right there, next to the bleachers, waiting for you, go talk to him, it’s killing him not talking to you, but make it quick before the coach comes in” Kiara said, without waiting for Lynn’s reply. She took a deep breath and jogged towards Aaron, his eyes never leaving her running form.
“What did you want to talk about? I don’t exactly have time right now, please make it quick…” she said glancing at the group of girls, to make sure their coach was not there yet. “Lynn, why have you been avoiding me? And let’s admit it, we can’t stay without talking to each other, I’m sorry for Friday, I didn’t mean to kiss the other girl, that too infront of you. I didn’t even know her, I was under the alchohol… I’m so sorry, Lynn” he said the last part a little hurt, Lynn looked into his eyes to find nothing but pure honesty.
“Look, Aaron, you don’t have to explain it to me, I mean it’s not like you’re my boyfriend or anything, you can kiss anyone you want, who am I for you to explain to me”, she paused to take in a deep breath as a sharp pain was felt in her chest as the words left her mouth, before continuing, “So, its okay, we’re fine now. Now I really have to go before coach comes and sees me talking rather than practicing, so…” she was cut of by him, “Lynn, you can’t just pretend like nothing happened…I have to tell you something before I chicken out .” Aaron was cut of by a very manly voice, booming all around the practice area, “D’Silva, you better be here before I make sure to give detention to you and your boyfriend” Coach sir was here, ‘crap. my worst fear was happening’ Lynn thought as her eyes went wide with fear.
Aaron gripped her hand suddenly just before she was about to sprint her way towards her flaring coach, when she looked upto Aaron, he had his signature smirk on, “Coach, you’re keeping me from kissing my extremely hot girlfriend right here, give us some privacy, will ya?”  he shouted, Lynn had her mouth open as coach shouted, “LEAVE MY CAPTAIN ALONE, JACKSON!!!”. Aaron laughed with the rest of the girls , and soaked in the redness of Lynn’s strawberry face.
Then, he did something that took her my complete, utter shock. He leaned in close to her height, his lips barely touching hers, their breaths mixing, he said in a quiet whisper, “I’m sorry for what I’m about to do, but I have to…” he said, looking at her. When he saw her confused expression, he closed the little gap between them and brushed his lips with hers. Lynn could feel his warm lips and felt like her every nerve ending was on fire, it was a good feeling.
As for Aaron, The feeling of her soft lips, with her strawberry flavoured gloss drove his crazy. He knew he had to let her go now or else the detention was gonna turn into something serious, but he could’t bring himself to leave her lips. Just as he was about to deepen the kiss, she pulled away, her lips slightly swollen, all thanks to Aaron’s amazing kissing abilities. She bit her lips as she blushed a deep red.
“You know, biting your lips in front of me in not exactly helping me from keeping my hands off of you, so go to practice before I do something I rregret later, or if you don’t feel like practice, we could continue what we started somewhere else, we have a detention anyway” he said, not being able to keep the smile from his face.
“Just shut up, Aaron…You…You just…Oh, whatever” she stuttered, and took off running, without glancing back. She then heard a faint shout, “You’re coming with me after school, we have some unfinished business to attend to”, she knew that it was Aaron even without her seeing him.
When she reached the girls, Kiara said, “I saw what you both did there, I hope everything is sorted out now?” it sounded more like a question than a statement. “Yeah, me too” she said, absentmindedly as she was busy thinking about the kiss that Aaron had literally just attacked her with, and the weird part was that she actually wanted to try it again just to feel that feeling again.
After practice, she took a bath, dressed up and came out to find Kiara, already all dressed, making out with Dhruv on his car bonnet, she looked around the parking area, finding no one, just a single black Camaro with no one around it.
She walked towards it, only to find Aaron fast asleep  on the back seat. She loved to see this particular guy in his sleeping form, he looked so much younger, so cute that she wanted to kiss the life out of him….Oh, God!! Now she even sounds like Aaron!!
As much as she hated to wake him up, she had to go home, to her mother and her father, both were back, her father had taken a month’s leave to spend time with her and her mother, well, her mother actually, since Lynn kept visiting him on weekends, but it was her mother that her father couldn’t give time to.
As she knocked on the glass window, he stirred a little, but went straight back to sleep again, “Someone’s a heavy sleeper…” she knocked again, this time a little harder, causing Aaron to wake up startled with the loud knock and tumbled down the seat, into the space between the seats.
Lynn was laughing her head off, taking the support of the car handle and Aaron, on realising it was just Lynn, managed to open the door and get out of it with a shy grin, as he rubbed the back of his neck and asked, “Hows was your practice? Were you waiting too long for me to wake up?” to which Lynn said, “Look who’s all formal now…” she smiled.
“Anything to make my girl smile… you have no idea how much I’ve missed that smile…” he says, making Lynn blush like crazy. She just said let’s go and made her way towards the front seat while Aaron grabbed the driver’s seat.
They passed Lynn’s lane and kept going straight, making Lynn tense in her seat, “Aaron, we just passed by the lane to my house, where are you heading?” she asked a little panicked. “Just chill, cupcake. Let’s just say I’m kidnapping you for myself, today, okay?”, “But what about my parents, they don’t know that I’m gonna be with you, I don’t even have my phone, Aaron!” the last part came out as a shrill, high-pitched shout.
“Jeez, woman! Calm your horses, I have your parent’s permission. Although, your dad was not very happy about it, but what’s new, he’s never happy when it’s about me and you” he said, a little hurt noticable in his voice. “Aaron, its okay. I’m still here, aren’t I? Even if he’s got a problem with you, then he has to deal with it, because I’m not gonna leave my best friend just like that” Lynn said, trying to convince him.
Aaron, somehow, didn’t feel happy when he heard her call him her best friend, he was tend to be something more than that, something along the line of ‘boyfriend’. He didn’t say anything, he just nodded.
They reached their favourite diner, a little outside their town, and he parked his car in the parking lot. He came out, and jogged towards her side, and swiftly opeaning the door for her, before she could do it herself. Lynn asked, “What is going on with you? Why am I special to you, so suddenly? Aaron, if it’s some project you want me to work on for you, you just have to hand me a stack of candy, and I’m good to go”.
“Lynn, just shut up and eat with me, will you? God, why do girls talk so much…I have to tell you something, and let me do it my way, or I’ll chicken out, again!” Aaron said, a little irritated. Lynn, knowing he didn’t expect an answer, just nodded her head like a good girl and followed him towads the diner.
They ate in silence, after which, Aaron paid for the food and came out of the diner. To Aaron’s relief, the parking lot was empty, and he needed a little privacy for what he was about to do.
“Lynn, wait” he said as she was walking ahead of him towards his car, she stopped once she heard him and turned around, a little confused. She raised her eye brow, asking him to continue with whatever he had to say. He continued, “Lynn, I know I haven’t been the best friend these past few weeks, I have been a pain in the ass and all other things that you call me” he paused to take a deep breath, before continuing, “But believe me when I say I missed you so much last week when you didn’t even bother to say that you were not coming to school, I hated to see you with Ricky. Hell, it hurt like crazy when you chose Kiara over me on Monday morning. I love you, Lynn D’Silva, and you have every right to reject me, but will you be my girlfriend, I swear you won’t regret it.”
Lynn took a few minutes to take in his honest confession, Aaron almost thought it was a no, when he heard her walking towards him, “Aaron Daniel Jackson, I accept your confession, on one condition .Will you leave all your player ways and become a committed man??”
“Look who’s being all formal now?” “Answer the question, dickhead.” to which Aaron replied, without a single moment of hesitation, “Already done.”. Lynn didn’t take another moment to kiss the life out of him, just like she had planned on doing in god knows how many daydreams she never had the guts to complete.
This kiss was different than the one near the bleachers, this was more passionate, more raw, more hungry. She could feel Aaron nibbling on her lower lip, as she struggled to keep pace with his amazing kissing abilities.
She could feel Aaron’s hand make its way up her shirt, on the small of her back, while she unknowingly snaked her hand around his neck and gently pulled his hair, just above the nape of his neck, earning herself a moan from him.
He moved his mouth from hers, to trail kisses down her neck, and stopped just where her neck met her shoulder, and nibbled on that part. Lyn had to bite her lower lip, to keep the moans from coming up her throat. She was having a hard time thinking straight with Aaron’s lips all over her neck, Aaron knew his cupcake's weak spot very well.
He stopped abruptly and looked towards Lynn with a victorious grin. When Lynn questioned his smile, he said, "Sorry babygirl, but that hickey is gonna take a good few weeks before it disappears completely. And a much as I hate to admit it, guys swoon over you, and when I'm not around you, this little guy around your neck is gonna help me ward off guys", "Aaron! You did not just do that, did you!?" She said, she ran her hand through her neck and winced at the gentle pain that she felt as she touched the love bite that Aaron had left.
"And guys like Ricky, they need all the signs that say that you're taken, or they never back off" he said with distaste.
"Muffin, why are you ruining the mood by bringing up such a guys name. Lets go and continue what we started somewhere else, shall we?" Lynn said the last part seductively. She got the reply she was expecting, Aaron looked like a kid in a candy shop, as he pulled her towards the car, with so much excitement and a twinkle in his eyes.
Once in the car, Lynn checked the mark on her neck in the rear view mirror, and to her horror, it was huge, and boy was it gonna take just a few weeks.
"You're so gonna get it from me for this, muffin!" She said pointing towards the hickey.
He didn't reply, just nodded and pulled her out of her seat, placing her on his lap, so that she straddled him. She kissed his nose first, teasing him as he breathed out a sigh, saying "Oh boy, this is gonna be a long long evening..." as Lynn kissed him like her life depended on it.
