Three

A few weeks passed and finally we had something to look forward to. It was Percy's fifthteenth birthday party. I was happy because of him being a member of the "Alpha" family everyone in the pack was invited.

That meant Gavin would be there too. The unlucky part was that Gavin's matr was there too. Her name was amazingly unique in the sarcastic way: Gabriela. But everyone called her Gaby.

For the most part, I spent my night hijacking the punch bowl and adding my own twist to it.

After some time Sierra and Tabitha came over and we all started chitchating. Sierra was a great friend of mine. I practically spent most of my time at her house.

"You okay, Lydia?" Sierra asked.

I smiled taking another sip of the punch. "I'll be fine."

Sierra smirked. She knew that was code for I'm doing as good as an eathworm in the middle of Antarctica.

I gazed at her amazed by myself. My friends were hot. Sierra was dressed in a violet dress and had raspberry lip balm. Her hair was dyed violet purple and her eye shadow was on fleek. I laughed at the thought. Sierra was hispanic which complimented her cocoa butter skin.

Tabitha on the other hand had cocoa coffee skin. Her lips were full and her hair was as loose as liquorice. Her eyes were sublte yet beautiful- in spite of the fact that they were normal brown.

Where Sierra had a violet dress, Tabitha had a black and white one. Her smile made me smile. I could imagine any guy walking up to her intimidated by her beauty.

"Cheer up!" Tabitha nudged. "You're brother's fifthteen. In one more year you'll be Alpha and then you won't have to fear the whole mate thing."

"Tabitha!" Sierra complained. "That's not how you cheer someone up. Look at it this way, you'll find your mate soin."

She's right. Scar murmured. Our mate is getting closer by the day.

I dont want him. I murmured. I couldn't careless if he jumped off a cliff and died.

Scarlet remained silent.

I took a deep breath and chugged down the rest of my drink. I needed a way to get my mind off of Gavin and the whole problem with my mating season.

Perking up I smiled.

"Come on girls." I smiled grabbing their hands. "Let's dance. This is a party after all."

I woke up around four am.

Why? Because my Dad had a mission he wanted me to lead. The perks of beinf Beta came at the occasional price of sleep.

After getting all packed up and ready, I made my way down stairs to see Gavin and his Dad waiting for me.

I smiled at Gavin and soon sftrr noticed another person behind him. It was Gaby. She had on a black autumn seasonal coat with various buttons across and a rope to tie at rhe waist. Her pants were jeggings and her black hair was covered with a black snow hat.

Why a snow hat? I asked myself.

She has soft brown eyes which made me feel bad. She seemed genuinely nice and oh she was.

"Beta!" She smiled as she saluted to me. "It's such an honor to meet you. Gavin's told me a lot about you. Very good things!"

I gazed at her with a weary look and just held a nervous smile.

"Call me Lydia." I said.

"Oh! Ok Lydia." Gaby smiled. "I'm Gavin's mate. The name's Gabriela Silver."

"You related ti Annabeth?" I wondered.

"She's my cousin." Gaby nodded.

"So where are we going Calvin?" I gazed at Gavin's Dad.

"The break in territories of the Silver and Crimson Moon packs." He conveyed.

"So what's the mission?" I asked.

"Retcon." Dad managed as he walked into the hallway. "You're going to survey the area and assist in mediating the situation."

"Any civilians we need to worry about?" I asked.

"A few local humans." Dad remarked.

"Can I use my other powers?" I asked.

Dad smirked As he pulled me into a hug. "Sweetheart, I'm not the leader in this mission. I can't tell you what to do. Just be careful. I know those powers of yours are still unstable."

Kissing my forehead, hd coressed my chin and gaze me a weary smile. It was one of those smiles that you know you'd give to your child one day when they went out into the world.

I felt strangely at ease with this look. It made me confident. I nodded at my dad as I gathered with the others.

Calvin shook my Dad's hand. "Don't worry about it London. I'll take care of her. She'll return in one peice."

"I'm not worried about that." Dad remarked. "Lydia is a tough one. Its just keep an eye on her. Make sure she doesnt get angry on the battlefield. Because if she does-"

"Calvin come on!" i called out from the door as everyone emptied the hall way.

"I promise I'll keep her in control." Calvin murmured as he raced off to meet up with us.

When we got outside I smiled as I gazed at the black Sedan parked in the drive way.

I instantly raced to the driver's door to have Calvin smile at me.

"Sorry kiddo, only I drive my car." He nodded holding a smug look on his face.

"But I'm Beta!" I insisted.

"And I bought the car." He replied.

Accepting defeat, I walked to the back seat and sat with Gaby. I spent most of the time lolking out the window and listening to music on my Iphone 6s.

The further we got away from the pack site, the more uncomfortable I felt. Fear urked me and I felt a sudden yearning to return home.

I didnt know why but I got the feeling like something bad was going to happen and fast.

In a swerve of movment the car jerked to the left then to the right.

"Look out!" Gavin cried as rhe car flipped into the air.

In a burst of glass and plastic the car was totaled and I found myself being driven into a deep deep sleep.

As my vision faded I realized one this. I wasnt waking up for a long long time. Because this was not sleep. This was a coma.

An amazing cliff hanger if I do say so myself. Loved writing it and I guess it just came to me the instant he said no to her driving.

As for the birthday Percy's birthday is October 3rd. So yes he is my own character lol.

Umm I want to build up more on the relationship dynamics between Gavin Lydia and Gaby. No this isnt the mate thing but we need to deal with this crush she has in order to move on to a much more passionate heat infested love.
