A Hospital in the City
Washington DC, Capitol of the United States of America
Thor looked in through Natasha Romanoff’s hospital window to notice that the only real thing about her that didn’t blend into her sheets was her very dull hair.
For a second, he almost thought he had the wrong room.
When he saw Natasha shift, her face facing towards him, he knew that it was definitely the right room.
"Oh, Lady Romanoff," he sighed, shaking his head.
He looked at the board, looking at the next time someone was scheduled to enter the room. It looked like he had thirty minutes to get in and help her.
And helping her was what he planned on doing.
He tapped the edge of the window, making it open and climbing through. As he padded over to his friend’s bedside, he took notice of the rising amount of gamma radiation in her blood.
"Loki," he growled in annoyance.
He started when Natasha shifted on the bed, her skin getting paler by the second. If he was going to do something, he had to do it now.
"I apologize in advance if this hurts," Thor told her out loud, although he knew she probably wasn’t listening.
He took her hand in one of his, and the other one he laid across her forehead.
He felt her visibly stiffen, and he belatedly remembered what had gone across in the lab at NCIS. That wasn’t smart, he thought at her. I’m sorry.
. . . Thor?
Thor jumped in surprise when he got a thought back. I’m here, Lady Romanoff.
Help. Please.
Then stay still.
He felt her withdraw, then took a deep breath and concentrated. He had never been as good at healing as his father or mother could have been, but he had learned. He watched as his hands glowed just slightly, the magic he was using pouring life into his friend.
And across the room on the monitors, something started to beep.
Thor glared angrily at it, but then he saw that the gamma radiation was decreasing rapidly. He grinned. You’re going to be fine, Lady Romanoff.
. . . Thank you.
Once Thor made sure that all of the gamma radiation was out of her blood, he sat down in a chair to wait.
Within thirteen seconds, Natasha Romanoff’s emerald eyes shot open and locked onto Thor’s. "Thank God," she whispered hoarsely.
"That would indeed be me," Thor admitted in a joking voice. "Good to have you back, Lady Romanoff."
"Just one thing."
Thor raised an eyebrow. "I just saved your life already."
"Get me out of here."
"Oh, I was planning on doing that the moment you got up."

YES! Finally, the prologue is UP! Dedicated to TashLoves2Write for being an awesome reader. I think she's even faster than me, and that's saying something! :)
Go Thor for saving Nat's life (although if you read Assemble's epilogue, you knew that he did), and they will find the Avengers shortly. :)
