*Dean's POV*

I took a deep breath as I stood outside my door.

Sam had told me what the angels had done to Cas, how could I face him after what he thought I had done?

It wasn't you, now man up and get in there!

Alright, let's do this bitch.

I knocked twice, then opened the door without waiting for a reply.

Cas was sitting up now and he flinched slightly when he saw me, but made no move to get away. I closed the door and very slowly moved over to the bed.

I sat about half a metre away from him. "Is this okay?" I whispered, hating the gap between us, but not wanting to push my luck.

He nodded mutely and looked at me, I could still see the fear in his eyes, fear of me.

And it hurt.

It hurt so bad.

"Please believe me Cas" I spoke slowly and quietly, not wanting to scare him. "I would never, never hurt you" my voice cracked a little at the end.

"I think I do believe you," Cas began slowly. "But what you did, what I thought you did, memories like that don't just disappear, please Dean, I just need time" he pleaded softly.

I smiled a bit, I was so glad he believed me, "Take all the time you need, my Angel, I will always wait for you"

Cas returned my smile, it was a small one, but it was defiantly there.

'Thank you for understanding"

"Is there anything I can do to make things easier?" I asked, needing to make him as comfortable as possible, given the situation.

"Just, will you stay with me? I missed you so much, the real you, not the assbutt you" he looked down at his hands and a lone tear slipped down his face.

Without thinking I raised an arm and reached out to wipe it away.

Cas flinched violently and his arms flew up to protect his face.

I froze and let my arm slowly drop,
"I'm so sorry Cas" I whispered.

Cas lowered his arms, "I am too,
please, I am trying"

"I know" I smiled sadly at him.

Cas hesitated, then slowly reached out to stoke my face, his fingers trembling a bit.

I sat very still, then slowly leant my face against his hand.

We sat like that for a while, not moving or talking, just taking comfort in each other.

'Cas, I swear, I will make this right again" I finally broke the silence and he lowered his hand.

"We will make it right" he corrected me smiling slightly.

Very slowly, I reached out and took his hands in mine.

"I love you Castiel" I told him, looking into his eyes and willing him to understand just how strong my feelings were.

He seemed to get it, "I-I love too Dean"
