Chapter 1

I jumped up to the sound of thunder rumbling in the horizon. It happened again I think to myself  as I feel my now drenched pajamas and matted hair. I looked around my dimly lit room feeling now vulnerable as I see my blanket lying upon the floor. I get up after checking the time realizing its no point and me trying to go back to sleep. I switch my alarm off and head to the window to look at the storm brewing in the distance. My stomach starts to turn as my thoughts remind me of the night terror I just had. "I haven't even left the house yet and I have a feeling its going be a bad day." I say to myself as I pick up my towel; shower time.

As I head out my room to the shower I look in my little brother room he sleeping so peaceful the best behaved he will ever be I think as I smiled to myself and move quietly down the hall.

"Nickiee." My mom call out as soon as I approach the bathroom door. I sighed and turn around in frustration because of the fact that she just interrupted my mission. "Yes." I sighed as I reach her door. "What are you doing up so early you still have another hour did you have another nightmare." " No." I say hoping its too dark for her to see my wet pajamas and drenched hair. " I just wanted to get an early start so I can make sure I have everything ready" I say a little to quickly hoping she to tired to notice "ok." She sighed still over powered by exhaustion. I rush out of her room quickly before she have time to think of something else to ask me. I mean don't get me wrong I love my mom and everything but sometimes she is too concerned. I enter the bathroom smiling at the fact I get to get out these clothes. I quickly pull off my clothes feeling overwhelmed by the cool air that welcomes me I turn on the hot water and grab my vanilla shampoo and body wash. Ready to scrub away my problems and start the day stress free.

I stepped out the shower catching my reflection in the mirror I stopped and gazed  at my ordinary appearance besides from chubby cheeks. My medium length black hair small brown eyes a little nose and full lips make me as plain as ever. I sighed wishing I could do something to myself so I could stand out well no time to dwell I think to myself as I pull on my towel and head to my room. 5:30 I have a whole hour and 30mins to get dress and do my hair which would only take 15 I guess I'll make breakfast I say to myself as I look in my closet at the boring wardrobe that is awaiting my selection. I pulled on some denim skinnies a tan cashmere sweater and a pair of tan suede boots to accompanied me and the cool wet day that awaits me. I glance in my mirror pulling my hair in a sideways pony tail spray on a tad of perfume grab my carmex and headed downstairs to cook breakfast and catch some toons before the bus. I flick on spongebob and went to the kitchen thinking of homemade french toast and link sausages today as the sound of spongebob filled my house I heard my brother start to stir. So I grabbed an extra piece of bread and transform into to Betty crocker as I grabbed the rest of the ingredients. As I start to set the table I hear the sound of little feet padding down the stairs followed by a little 3yr old boy who is still rubbing his eyes from sleep. Unlike me my brother is adorable he have hazel eyes maghony skin dark black hair a cute little teddy bear nose the chubbiest cheeks and the brightest smile ever. "Tiacrie". I call out to my baby brother "I made your favorite, homemade French toast." I smiled at how the tiredness fell from his face when I said that he quickly got in the chair and smiled at me before he said his grace. I picked up my plate and his and took it to  the couch "I figured while my mom still sleep if you will promise not to be a messy boy we could eat in the living room how that sound." He nodded his head assuring me he felt the same way. As we sat down eating I looked out the window noticing how the storm didn't look like it was calming down at all I would have to wear a hoodie because an umbrella would be useless. Checking the time seeing that it was 6:45 I sent my brother up to his room and I washed the dishes and grabbed my hoodie, and applied my Carmex. I went out with ear buds and iPod in hand as the bus pulled up with outstretch doors awaiting me to enter for my first day of highschool.
