Steve’s Point of View:

I walked over to Cody and sat on the chair Natasha was sitting in. Cody smiled shyly and looked up at me. “What’s it you need, Captain?”

“D-do you have any idea how you would know the name Bucky?”

Cody paused for a minute before answering my question. “Well… umm… I really don’t know. But I have a hypothesis and how I might know, but I’ll tell you later.”

I smiled and nodded my head. “You’re a good kid, Cody. Anybody would be lucky to have you as a child of their own.”

It seemed like Cody’s eyes gleamed with joy for a moment before she looked down at her hands slightly. “Thanks, Steve.” She said rubbing the back of her neck a little.

   “You’re welcome,” I said.

“So um…” Cody started to say, “What’s the ‘Avengers Test’ like?”

“I think Stark will tell you about it once you start.”

“Okay, but I think I might go to get something to eat downstairs. Care to join me?” She asked standing up once again.

“Sure,” I stood up as well. We both walked toward the door, and I opened it for her and then went afterwards closing the door. We walked downstairs and Cody and I walked over to the bar area where Tony installed a fridge for Thor last month. She opened it and looked inside.

“Okay we have… nothing. Can you check the cupboards, Cap?” She asked me as she looked in the freezer.

“Yes,” I replied looking in the cupboards. “There isn’t anything,” I turned to look at her.

Then she looked to her left, “Thor. Did you eat everything in here?”

Thor was right there, “No… me, Clint, and Bruce did.”

Cody frowned, “Can we go to the store?” she asked me.

      “I-I guess,” I replied.

“Okay good, anybody have something to drive in?” Cody asked looking around.

“I do,” I turned around to see Stark. “The thing won’t be ready until tomorrow so I guess you guys can go get some food. Natasha needs to stay just in case me and Bruce need her help though.” He tossed Cody a pair of keys. “You can drive, Cody.”

Cody looked down at the keys and then looked up at Stark again. “Alright,” she smiled as she told Thor, Clint, and me to come and follow her.

Once we got downstairs into the garage Cody pressed the unlock button to see which car Stark was letting her used. Cody and I whistled somehow at the same time. A black stingray from what the letters said on the side of the car, and the hood was off so it could hold four or five people.

Cody hopped into the stingray and felt the wheel. “I have never seen a stingray in person- let alone drive in one- before.” She said to herself, and then I sat in the passenger seat.

“It’s a pretty neat ride,” I said looking around in it. “You guys coming?” I asked Thor and Clint.

“’Course, come on Thor.” Clint got into the back of the stingray before Thor did.

Then Cody started the car and pulled out of the garage. It took a couple minutes of swirly road before we were outside. Then she kept driving for several minutes in silence… an awkward silence at that. So I piped up, “Do you know where we are going?”

She nodded her head, “Yeah. I’ve been around New York City on my motorcycle, and this is the part I know best.”

“You have a motorcycle?” I asked her.

“Yes, yes I do.” She glimpsed at me before looking back at the road. She took a turn to the right.

“How long have you had it?” I asked her.

“I don’t really know,” she said honestly. “It’s been around in my garage for who knows how long. Or before I rebuilt it; it’s one of the oldest cycles I’ve seen my entire life.”

        “What’s the brand?”

“Don’t know,” Cody started to say. “It doesn’t say anywhere on the bike.”

“It’s probably rubbed away or something like that,” I said looking at her.

“Maybe,” she said stopping the car at a stop sign.

“Do you know what kind of motorcycle it is? I could take a look at it if you want.”

She pushed slightly on the gas pedal still driving. “I don’t know what kind it is, and it would be great if you could take a look at it.”

“I can do that once we can get to your home, Fury doesn’t want anybody near it until we know it’s completely safe to go to.” I said as she drove into a parking lot.

“The thing about it being completely safe is not going to be true; if someone is getting me they know where I live. If I were to go back soon I would probably move.” She chuckled slightly, “Ah, we are here now.”

She stopped the car in a parking space that was between some type of jeep and a truck. Cody opened the door and exited the car. Then I opened my door and followed her in as Thor and Clint tried to catch up with us. We all entered the store at the same time.

Cody got a cart and came back over to us. “What is this place?” Thor asked looking wide-eyed at the store.

“It’s a place where you buy food,” Clint said.

“That’s a lot of food…” Thor looked around still.

“Relax Thor; we are only buying the stuff we need.” Cody stated as she started to push the cart toward an aisle. I followed right behind her looking around. “Anything you want, Cap?”

“Nothing in particular,” I replied to her.

“Can we get poptarts, Cody?” Thor asked from behind me.

“Yeah I guess,” Cody said walking to the aisle with poptarts. We stopped where they had all types of poptarts.

“By Odin’s beard… we must buy all-“

“No Thor,” Cody interrupted him. “We are only buying two boxes.”

At least she has self control.

Thor sighed but nodded, “Fine.” Thor put two boxes in the cart and we kept walking.

We walked for about two more minutes until we reached the organic foods area. Cody grabbed a couple bananas and apples and put them in the cart. Then she got Clint to push it somehow… I don’t really know how. So we walked and grabbed things like bread, water bottles, and a couple other things until we got to the frozen foods isle.

“What is this Frost Giant isle for?” Thor asked; Cody walked to one of the freezers and grabbed ice cream.

“To hold foods that have to be in the freezer. Like this ice cream.” Cody stated placing the ice cream into the cart.

“I will go find something!” Thor exclaimed looking into all of the freezers. It took him about two minutes before he came back with a box of something. “How about these?”

He held up a box of popsicles. “I don’t care,” Cody said placing several more things into the cart.

“Good, because I wasn’t taking no for an answer,” Thor said placing the popsicles in. Cody shook her head and then we started walking toward the cashier’s area.
