Cody’s Point of View:

I looked at everyone, confused. They were staring at me strangely… I shook it off and walked to the cooler, taking a water bottle out. “So it was fun I guess. The HYDRA agents were a bit tougher, but that’s alright. The funny thing was that they didn’t disappear like the other holographs did in the other tests. But that’s alright, and I guess everything looked more realistic. It also felt more realistic, especially with all of the explosions and gun firing.”

I paused a moment to take a drink of my water. “And then I was able to take one of their helmets,” I continued, holding a fake HYDRA helmet. “And I also found this,” I turned around and tossed a small mechanical bug on the table. “I thought it resembled the one that—“

“SHIELD found in the forest when the Wrecking Crew took you.” Cap finished, quietly, looking at the bug on the table.

I nodded, “Yeah. So I was thinking it might be something that was used a while back in HYDRA bases. It didn’t really do anything though.” I said.

Cap sat down in a chair by the table, still looking at the bug. He seemed slightly shook about something.

Everyone left except for me and him. So I sat down in a chair in front of him and picked up the bug, “Is something wrong Cap?” I asked a little worried sounding.

“Cody where in the base did you find this?” he asked me, now looking up at me.

“In the controls room; right before the HYDRA base went into flames.” I replied, not even having to think.

“Where in the room?” he asked.

“On some type of plug or something that was on a table and that table was right by the place the self destruction buttons are.”

He leaned back in his chair as I set the bug on the table. It crawled over to him. “Why do you ask? Couldn’t you see what—“

“You disappeared from that holographic room, Cody.” He interrupted me, quickly; I froze in shock.

“Wh-what?” stuttered me. “Th-that’s impossible! I was in that room the entire time!”

“No Cody you weren’t.” he insisted. “Cody I checked in that room, twice even! You weren’t in that room.”

“But I walked out of that room…” I mumbled, still confused.

“Cody I honestly have no idea what happened to you, but can you explain it a little?” Cap asked, looking really concerned.

I sighed, “Pretty much all that happened was me entering the base, getting shot at by plenty of holographic HYDRA soldiers, finding the controls room, setting off the self-destruction, finding that bug, the explosions went throughout the base. And so I got outside, shooting and throwing my shield—which I accidentally lost—at the HYDRA agents, and then walking around in the snow for about twenty minutes until I tripped and left the room.” I said in pretty much one breath.

Cap nodded as the bug crawled onto his arm. “I’m gonna go check the room out.” He said, standing up; I followed him into the room. Once he opened the door we both stepped in, and looked around.

It was just a dark room.

I sighed and shook my head, “Well I don’t know what happened but—“

I was interrupted by the clicking sound of the mechanical bug. I and Cap both looked at it as it jumped off his arm and walked towards the end of the room. Cap and I walked towards the bug, but stopped when its eyes turned red. It jumped up and down as it ran into the wall.

I walked to it again and picked it up. There was a circle on its back, and it flashed red. So I pressed it; it jumped off me and threw itself at the wall again. This time there was no bug.

There was a portal… I think it was a portal at least.

Both me and Cap walked towards the portal, and then stepped in it.

         “Oh my gosh,” I said.

“This can’t be right…” mumbled Cap. “We need to get out of here.”

Before I could say anything there was an explosion; we both jumped and turned to our left to see a tank firing at us. I felt someone’s hands pull on my waist, making me fall back into the portal. My breathing pace went faster and I turned around to see it was Cap who pulled me back in. We both fell as the explosion from the tank also entered the room.

Cap sat up quickly and picked the bug up, and threw it at the wall.

It was destroyed. The portal was gone.

I tried to breathe slowly as Cap helped me up. “What the heck just happened?” I asked, looking at Cap.

He gave me a sad smile, “I think you entered World War II.”

                                                                                ________

“You are right, Capsicle,” Tony said. “The bug did make a time dimension.”

“A what?” asked I, still confused.

“A time dimension,” Tony cleared. “It’s a portal where you can go back in time.”

         “Oh…” said I, calmly.

         Ha, how ironic.

Ironic because I am still freaking out here! I just got sent back in time, and I could have really died!

“Yup,” Tony said. “It’s funny how there was one just like this in the forest. I wonder what the Wrecking Crew would want with this. It would be useful to them or anything.”

         I nodded, still looking calm.

“Cody you’re bleeding!” exclaimed Cap. Tony walked over to me and poked the wound—on my arm—with a pen.

“Ouch! Tony!” I glared at Tony as he glared at me.

“Bullet wound, but it just skimmed her,” Tony said, looking at his pen.

Cap sighed in relief. Then I looked around the room, “Where’s Bruce and the other two?”

“They went back to the SHIELD helicarrier to look at something,” Thor said.

           “Okay…”

Bruce’s Point of View:

I looked at Cody’s DNA results carefully. And then back at the computer’s result of another match. “That must be wrong…” I mumbled to myself as I typed in more data.

          “Match.” The computer said.

“It has to be a glitch.” I said.

“What is, Doctor Banner?” asked Natasha.

I looked up at her, confused and shocked. “I know who her dad is.”
