Entry Eleven: The Avengers Test Vote

Tony’s Point of View (Still…):

    “Tony… no, just no! We never got to test it out- she’s also too young.” Bruce exclaimed… but he was whispering.

    “Why not? We can do it here in Stark Tower.” I smirked and Bruce crossed his arms. 

      “No-“

  “Yes,” I interrupted him.

    “No-“

  “Yes,” I did it again.

     “Tony-“

   “I’ll go ask the others, if they say yes, we’ll do it together.” Before Bruce could say anything else, I exited the room and went where the others were watching that show still… Super Hero Squad Dummies or something like that.

     Cody was talking with the Cap… they seem like a good couple… except Cap is like eighty years older than her. He might make a good role model to her. I will NEVER admit that I just thought that though.

    Then Natasha looked over my way; she was talking to Legolas. “You need something, Stark?”      

      “Yeah… I need to talk with all of you… except Cody.” Only Natasha and Clint heard me though… unless Cody heard me, but she was still talking with Spangles.

     Natasha nodded and rounded the troopers up. Cody sat back down on the couch and started to watch something else. I think the show she was watching is called Merlin or something… who knows. Then I followed the others into to the other room.

Natasha’s Point of View:

    What could Stark need that is so important? What is he going to do? Make Cody an Avenger or something? Pft! He wouldn’t ever do anything like that.

    I walked beside Clint as we entered the other room. I saw Bruce sitting down on a chair by a large table. I sat down in a chair beside him, and Clint was in the other chair by me. Then everybody else, except Tony, sat down.

    Tony was pacing around, “What did you want to talk about, Stark?” I asked him; he stopped and looked at all of us.

     “I think we should do the Avengers Test on Cody.” Oh crap…

      “What’s this ‘Avengers Test’ you speak of?” Thor asked looking kind of confused.

     “It’s where we put someone in scenarios like what each of us Avengers would be in… like one time, someone could have your abilities and then you put them in a scenario you’d be in. Like fighting a frost giant or something in your case, Thor.” Bruce said answering Thor’s question.

     “And Howardson wants Cody to do this?” Thor then asked; Stark nodded his head. “Maybe we should try this then.”

     “How dangerous would it be for Cody?” Cap asked; Bruce sighed and took off his glasses.

    “We don’t know… we never tried it on anybody before.” He stated; Cap looked down thinking.

      “We could probably try it… I haven’t really been able to talk to Cody, but I think she might be capable of this.” Clint said; now that I think about it… Stark might know what he’s doing.

    “I agree,” I stated.

    Stark nodded and then looked at Cap and Bruce. “What do you guys think?”

     Bruce started to clean his glasses before answering. “If you have all the things we need… I guess we could do it.”

   Stark smiled and then looked at Cap… Cap seemed the most concerned. Then he stood up and walked over to Stark. “I will agree… if you promise nothing bad will happen to her.”

    Stark looked down and saw Cap’s hands tightening. Then he looked up at him. “I can’t promise… but I will promise if anything did happen, I will do anything I can to fix the problem.”

     Cap sighed a little before agreeing. Then Tony took Bruce out of the room and went downstairs to get things prepared. I was sent to go talk to Cody about it. I walked out of the room and looked around. Cody wasn’t watching the show anymore.

     “She might be in her room, Lady Widow.” I turned around to see Thor talking to me.

    “Lady Widow?”, I was kind of confused on that.

      “I thought it was a good name for you.” He smiled… I think Tony said he should call me that. I won’t get mad at Thor though.

      “Okay Thor… um, do you know where Cody’s room is?” I smiled back and asked him the question. Thor nodded and showed me the way. He walked me upstairs and into a hallway; he knocked on the door of one of the rooms. Cody answered seeing both of us.

    “You need something?” She asked us; Thor looked at me before leaving. I looked at him walking away before Cody invited me into the room.

    I got a good look at the room; it was bigger than I thought Tony would give her. “Cody… we need to talk.”

    She nodded and pulled one of those wheelie chairs over. “Have a seat, Natasha.”

    I smiled and nodded… humble, she’s going to need that. “Thank you,” I said sitting down.

  “You’re welcome; do you need anything before we start talking?” I shook my head no as she sat on the bed.

     “We just need to talk.”

   “Okay… what do you need to talk to me for?” She asked placing her hands in between her knees.

      “Cody, how much do you know about the Avengers?” I asked her; she thought for a moment before replying.

     “Well… I really don’t know. I thought I just knew as much as any average person would… until when I said those things on the helicarrier. Oh, and I’m sorry about what I said about you. It was just the first thing out of my head.”

    “It’s alright, I do understand on why you would say those things about me. Oh… and do you have any idea on how you could have gotten that information about us?”

    “Um… wait one sec… I think I should have said ‘Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist’… okay anyways I think it might have something to do with my powers.”

    “Your powers?”, I asked confused slightly.

    “Well yeah… maybe somehow I got memories or something of others around me.” I thought for a moment and leaned back in the wheeled-chair I was in.

   “You know what… that might just be it.”

       “Yeah… I’m thinking that it isn’t a mind power though.” She said as she stood up.

   “Oh?”, I said waiting for her to say more.

     “Yep, it was like… it was planted in my memory the moment I touch someone. Like when I shook Bruce’s hand. I didn’t really know that much about him before I had physical contact with him. But then I knew practically everything about him!”

     That could be it… I wasn’t in deep thought about it, but it seems like she was.

      “Okay Cody… oh and um we have something for you to do.” I said still in the chair.

   “Alright, what is the thing?” She asked sitting back down on the bed.

   “We think you’re ready for a specific test called the Avengers Test. Now, Stark made it and he thinks you should try it. He and Bruce are getting it ready now.” I stated; she nodded slightly in reply.

    “That sounds cool; when do I start?” Before I could answer there was a knock on the door. Cap was in the doorway.

   “Umm Natasha, you mind if I talk to Cody for a minute?” He asked me; I nodded and stood up. But before I left I answered Cody’s question.

    “Stark will let you know when he is ready, Cody.” Then I left and went downstairs as Cap closed the door.
