Akira's mother nods her head, she lets out a sigh as she leans back on the couch. She keeps quiet as she processes everything that Akira has told her.
"And your sure it's James?" Her mother asks her.
Akira nods her head, "Yes Ma, he told us personally."
Akira's mother, Sun, shakes her head in disbelief, "I cannot believe he did this. Thank you for telling me this Akira." Sun says as she smiles at her daughter.
"Ma, I need to ask you...what did you all do?" Akira curiously asks.
Sun lets out a sigh, Sun stands up and walks over to a small bar setup on top of an island near the kitchen. She pours herself a glass of scotch before putting her back to the bar to look at Akira. She takes a swig of her scotch and sets it down beside her on the bar.
"Akira, I wish I could tell you, but I can't. It's a secret that I have to carry with me even in death." Sun says as she crosses her arms, Akira frowns as her mouth slightly hangs open.
"I need you to tell me, our lives depends on it Ma!" Akira shouts as she runs her hands through her slick black hair. Sun shrugs her shoulders, "Please do not bother me anymore about this."
"Your own daughter is in trouble and you can't even fight for me! You never could because of how much trauma dad put you through! This is all his fault!" Akira screams as she begins to make her way to the kitchen. Sun follows her with the glass of scotch in hand.
"I never fought back because he was the one supporting us! I dealt with the pain so that you could have an easy life." Sun shouts back at her.
Akira gasps as she begins to laugh, "You thought my life would be easy!? What's so easy about seeing my own father viciously beat my mom!? Even he came at me when you weren't around. I fought for us when we were in Japan." Akira says as she shakes her head in disgust at her mom.
Sun takes a step back, almost a little in shock. "Your the reason he was beaten and put into the hospital. You killed him." Sun says as she nearly chokes on her words. Akira mouth drops as she bumps into the counter, she begins to shake as she sees the look of horror on her moms face.
"You killed him. You killed him!" Sun screams as she begins to cry and drink her scotch at the same time.
"Ma, why are you upset?!" Akira asks as she takes a step closer to her mom. Sun screams in horror as she shoves Akira back. Akira frowns in confusion at the sudden shove.
"You've doomed us all."
"Ma, what are you talking about!?"
"It's said that when the child of-..." Sun cuts herself off as she covers her mouth and shakes her head. Sun chugs the last of the scotch and rushes upstairs, Akira follows her up.
"Ma!"
As Gary and David are cooking food, Gary gets a sudden tickle up his back. He quickly turns around, but doesn't see anyone.
"Gary, I've been meaning to ask you something...since the accident." David says as he stops chopping onions to look at Gary. Gary coughs as he continues stirring a broth in a large pot, "Shoot."
David keeps quiet for a moment before he continues chopping away, "You died in the car explosion. When you woke up again in your bed the next day, what went through your mind?"
"I was swearing like a god damn sailor. I was so pissed that I died. I lost hope..." Gary softly mutters the last part to himself. David puts the knife down and turns to hug Gary from behind. David rests his chin on Gary's shoulder, "I won't let anything bad happen to you. I promise."
