"Wow," Skye sat wide eyed. "So you've broken laws."
"Umm... maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that." I looked down at my hand in my laps.
"Oh don't worry, we do that sort of things here a lot at S.H.I.E.L.D." Skye waved aside the subject. "But is there anything else we may need to know about Green."
I looked up to Skye's somewhat eager face. "He's dangerous." I let out a shaky breath before continuing. "He has a way of making things safe, soft, you know cuddly, when truly it's sharp and dangerous" I looked Skye straight in the eye. "Like him."
We sat in silence as I let Skye sink that in.
"So what was going on in the warehouse," Skye broke the silence. "do you know? What was with that weird room?"
I swallowed hard and took a moment to think. "A while back, maybe half a year ago, when Green and I went our separate ways, he was supposedly...dying. I don't know how but he was dying and he kept telling me that he would do anything to live but now I'm afraid that's exactly what he did."
"What do you mean?" Skye leaned forward, interested.
"Listen to me, if you want to find Green, I suggest you stay out of his way," I also leaned in, strictly. "He will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He is determined and has nothing to lose. That's what makes him so dangerous." My voice had now gone to a breathy, sharp whisper.
"Except you." Skye sat back in her chair, letting me sink that in. I was utterly shocked and thought for a moment in silence.
"What?"
Skye actually seemed like she didn't mean to say that but it was too late now. She looked everywhere but me.
"I...uh... saw the security footage and it seems to me that Green really wants to be with you."
Then something dawned on me, I had killed under the light of a security camera. Probably not the same one Skye was talking about, but one.
I shut my eyes, wanting to make this mess disappear.
"Was there audio to it?" I took a deep breath before opening my eyes. Not looking Skye in the eye.
"No," She replied. Phew. "Why?"
"Just wondering." I was going to have to find a subtle way to see if there was another security camera, like the one that had caught me murdering. "So was there any other security camera that may have...um caught Green getting away?"
Skye shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "That's the thing, there wasn't any other camera but Green just vanished into thin air."
I furrowed my eyebrows even though I was relieved.
"So is there anything else we need to know about Green as we start our manhunt?" Skye asked.
"No, that's pretty much it." Just as we finished to door to the room creaked open as Coulson strutted back in holding a file under his arm.
Skye got up and let him take his place in front of the table in my line of view as I continued to furrow my eyebrows.
"Alright," Coulson began, "it's time to talk about you, Odessa."
