"Well this is a heartfelt melody
But you'd never know it cause you're not listening" - Mallory Knox - Wake Up

Luke waited for michael at lunch, not really sure where to find him.
He paced around the corridor. He looked around outside. Nothing.

He huffed and went to the bathroom for a smoke.

He heard soft whimpers and sniffles and held his breath so he could hear more.

"Michael?" He guessed, hovering outside the locked door.

"L-Luke?" He whimpered back.

"Let me in please," Luke sighed quietly.

The door soon unlocked and Luke was faced with a blotchy faced michael. He was cringing.

"What's wrong?"

"M-my throat hurts." He said in a raspy voice.

"What did you do?" Luke asked suspiciously.

Michael suddenly wasn't able to talk, he wasn't able to admit it, to say it himself. Because to admit it would be to admit he had a problem.

"Michael stand up." Luke said.

Michael silently stood and walked out the stall. Luke lifted the toilet lid and gagged at the contents.

He flushed it away immediately and turned back to michael.

"Why did you do that?" He asked.

Michael didn't talk, just played with his hands nervously.

"Tell me!" Luke said.

"I... I tried to eat it but... I wasn't hungry."

"Yes you are." Luke stated.

"I-I'm not-"

"You are!" Luke exploded.

Michael looked at Luke with glassy eyes. He turned on his heel and started to walk off when Luke grabbed him and spun him back round.

"I'm sorry." Luke sighed, stroking the material of Michaels grey sweater.

"I-it's okay." Michael looked ashamed down at the floor.

"Let me drive you home." He said.

"Schools not finished." Michael objected.

"Just go home, your mums not in is she?" Luke asked, receiving a shake of a head from Michael. "Right then, let's get you home, washed and stuff and you can relax for the day okay?"

"Okay."
The drive was silent but Luke's hand rested on Michaels knee the whole time. Michael didn't see it as a romantic gesture but he blushed anyway.

They walked through Michaels front door and Luke flopped down on Michaels couch.

"What are you doing?" Michael giggled, closing the door.

"Staying here whilst you go get a shower and your pyjamas." He shrugged.

"Um, okay." Michael said nervously and went upstairs.

He had a two minute shower and brushed his teeth, ridding himself of any bad breath he may have had from what he did.

He grabbed a hoodie and also his leggings, hoping Luke wouldn't judge him for that. He didn't wear skirts or anything but to him leggings were the most comfortable thing in the world.

He got dressed and went downstairs, seeing Luke sprawled out on his couch asleep.

He smiled a little, grabbing a blanket and lying next to Luke with it draped over the both of them.

"Sweet dreams Luke." He mumbled, snuggling into him.

A few hours later Luke woke with a sleeping Michael breathing out quietly right beside him.

He smiled, not knowing if he should wake up the boy or not.

He remembered Michael saying his mum would be home around five and he didn't wanna be around for that, not yet knowing what kind of mum she was.

He climbed off the couch and scribbled a message on a post it not and stuck it to Michaels forehead. He giggled a little at the humour of it.

He kissed the sleeping boys temple and grabbed his stuff, leaving him there snuggled in a blanket.

When michael woke he looked around him for Luke and frowned, not seeing him. He began to feel abandoned and wanted to cry but he then felt the note on his face and focused his eyes on the loopy handwriting.

'You were too beautiful to wake. See you tomorrow x'

Michael couldn't help but break out in a smile, a warm feeling filling every inch of his cold body.
