Lost and Found

I'm drowning in a sea of faces. Nobody looks familiar. They are just there. Empty faces with joyful smiles. But no-one knows me. I don't know anyone. I pant heavily as I push through the ocean of people. Running as fast as I can but going nowhere.

Everything looks the same but I recognize nothing. Where am I?

How did I get here? I push my legs faster. My muscles ache and my feet burn but I keep going. Running away. And, searching...for something. Anything that could get me out of here.

Hot tears cascade down my cheeks. My heart is pounding in my ears.

Thud!

I crashed into something hard and stumbled backwards. I brace myself for the burning pain that I was sure would come as soon as my skin hit the tough gravel.

But it never came.

All I felt was warmth. Heat emitting from the strong arms holding me up to a hard chest. I slowly list my head. Warm brown eyes, find with love and concern, lock with my panicked orbs. I let out a small sigh of relief, even though it sounded more like a whimper.

Jacob...

"(Y, n), babe, are you OK," Jake asked worriedly. "I've been looking for you everyone."

I nod and rest my head on his chest, a tortured sob escaping my lips as relief washes through my body like the waves upon the sand. Jake hugs me tightly, rocking me back and forth.

"Shh Shh, it's ok now. I've got you," Jacob whispered reassuringly in my ear.

After a few minutes, my sobs die down to small whimpers as my tears stop. Jake kisses the side of my head as I calm down.

I start to pull away and Jake releases me reluctantly. I give him a small smile, telling him I was OK now.

"Thank you, Jacob," I say softly.

"No need to thank me (Y, n), I'll always be there for you, nomatter what," he replied then softly pressed his lips to mine.

I was lost,
But now I've seen.
You are my home,
And have always been.
