As I rushed towards the auditorium to find my next clue I could fill the adrenaline pulsing through my body as I became more and more excited.

As I went to open the auditorium open I realized it was locked so I slowly and sluggishly walked down to the main office to get a janitor to unlock it so that I could continue my scavenger hunt. But as I pasted the attendance office I saw something out of the corner of my eye that almost made my heart leap out of my chest. But as I took my second look I saw that it was only Jared. I whistled at him and waved and showed him the clue that I had in my hand and he shot me a double thumbs up. As I walked up to secretary Mrs. Whichard she looked up from here computer and offered me a wrinkly and gentle smile.

"What can I do for you hun?"

"Can you please call a janitor to come open up the auditorium?"

"Sure, I'll call for Emory."

"Thanks."

As I walked back down to the auditorium to wait on Emory, the old Scottish singing janitor, to come unlock the doors. I could hear him singing around the corner as he slowly approached me.

As he rounded the corner he gave me a big full teeth smile and I gave him a small grin. "Now what does a young lady like you need in the auditorium during the middle of class?" Emory said in a joking matter as he unlocked the door.

"My boyfriend has sent me on a scavenger hunt for our anniversary."

"Ah, let me offer you a bit of love advice young one."

"And what is that sir?" I couldn't help but giggle at the thought of Emory giving relationship advice.

"Don't try and lock your heart down to someone to fast or to young."

As I let Emory's words slip through my brain and sink in I decided that I would forget that because for once, an adult had given me some advice that I could actually use right now.

"Thanks Emory." I said as he turned to walk away to finish what ever task I had interrupted him from, which was probably walking up and down the halls whistling or singing.

I opened the door and quietly slide in to the vast and empty auditorium. I raced across the dark stage to the light switches. As I did I ran straight in to someone and as I picked myself back up I held my head trying to get the room to stop spinning. I looked up to see that I ran straight into the podium, I looked around to make sure there was anyone lurking in here to see that. Thankfully there wasn't so I preceded on to the light switches feeling like an idiot.

I flipped the lights and to my left on the piano bench there was a pink balloon tided to a piece of paper that had clue number to written inside.

'Clue #2

I'm glad that you remembered this spot babe! :) Now for the second clue.

Look at your French homework from last night and look at #13 and that's where your next clue is. Love you and I hope your having fun :)'

My heart took a quick dip cause he knew that 13 was my favorite number so I did a quick pivot around to look for my book bag but then remembered that it was still in the band room so I took a second to text Maddie the second clue info as I made my way back to the band room. As I spun around from shutting the auditorium the room started spinning. I felt myself stagger trying to regain my balance. I heard the irritating squeak of wet basketball shoes rubbing against tile floor turn and run toward me. I felt a warm hand wrap around my upper left arm and a hand land gently on my back to help steady me. I turned around to see who it was but I already had a guess in my mind because of the way my heart accelerated, the way my palm got sweaty, how there was electrical sparks where ever his hands where touching me, and the way my brain just went in to total panic mode.

I slowly turned toward my hated but loved aide. My eyes slowly took in his broad shoulders, then his perfect lips that surrounded his white smile, his dark brown shaggy hair, and finally saving them for last I took in his warm brown eyes that had made me melt every time I had look into them. In the pupils of them I could see myself and I looked like a deer in head lights. At that moment on the inside I was screaming so loud that I was surprised that he couldn't hear it. But I saw in my reflection that my mouth was glued shut in a line across my face.

He slowly released me and I leaned up against the wall behind me so I wouldn't fall over from pure shock. In this moment my body went in to pure flight mode, I saw with my peripheral vision that about 20 feet away there was a door that lead to the main hallway and from there it was another 20 feet to the safety of girls bathroom.

Not even 2 feet away from me he was standing in front of me, his eyes searching my face looking for something. I don't know what that something was, maybe love? Or maybe he was looking for my none existing longing for him. I gave a small shriek then I took off using my extra long legs for something that they were hardly ever used for, running.

I turned around for a split second to see him shaking his head at me but at that moment I didn't care, I had a mission set into my mind and that mission was to run to the safety of the bathroom and text Kendra.

I slid down the wall in the back corner of the bathroom and shot of a text to Kendra.

'Come to the main hallway bathroom NOW!!!'

Not even 10 seconds later my phone alerted me that she had read it. So now all I could do was sit and wait for her to get out of class.

A million memories, thoughts, and feeling came back and hit me like a ton of bricks. But one question sat very boldly on the edge of my tongue,

WHY WAS HE BACK.
