Vic’s POV

I felt a cold hand strike across my face.

“Vic, snap out of it! We need to go!” Jaime shouted.

“We can’t just.. leave the tour...” I slurred, still unsure of what just happened.

Mike grabbed my wrist and yanked me out of my bunk. I quickly pulled my wrist away and punched him in the arm, then quickly walked away while holding my wrist and biting my lip to avoid crying again. I finally understood what was going on.

“We need to get everything packed up,” I said, hastily walking around the bus.

“Everything’s already loaded up. We just need to get the fuck outta here,” Mike said.

Everyone just stared at me with wide eyes. “Well, let’s go! Dakota is somewhere out there, hurt, lost, and confused. We need to help find her!” I cried out, literally. The tears returned.

“I’ll go let the other bands know what’s going on. I’ll be back as soon as I can,” Tony said, leaving the bus.

I sat on the couch, holding a pillow to my chest. While Mike was outside getting a final check on our equipment, Jaime sat down next to me.

“Everything will be okay, Vic,” he told me.

“Did you ever tell Kota who Jenna was?” I immediately asked him.

“No, I couldn’t. When I tried to tell her, she just hung up.”

I didn’t say anything, I just stared at the floor. Jaime put his arm around my shoulder.

“We’ll find her, Vic. I promise,” Jaime said with sincerity.

Jenna came out of the bathroom, wiping her eyes with a tissue. She looked like she was a mess. I didn’t understand why, though. None of this was her fault.

“Vic, I cannot tell you how sorry I am..” she started.

“Really, Jenna, you didn’t cause any of this,” I told her.

“Right, but I did make it worse than it would have been.”

Mike and Tony walked inside of the bus.

“Alright, everyone knows we’re cutting the tour short. And Jenna, since we’re not passing through your town, it looks like you’re gonna have to come with us,” Mike said.

“Yeah! Sure. Anything I can do to help,” she said.

“Okay. It’s 5:30 right now. If we don’t hit traffic, we should be back in LA around 9.”

Mike took the driver’s seat and we all sat down. I was on the couch with Jaime, Jenna was sitting at the table, and Tony was in the passenger seat.

“What do you think happened to her?” I asked.

“I’m sure she just left the apartment for a little while. She probably just needed some fresh air or to get away from all the craziness. Nothing bad is going to happen to her,” Jaime assured me.

“But what if something bad does happen to her? What if... what if she does something stupid?” I worried.

“Dakota isn’t that kind of girl. She wouldn’t do that,” Jaime said.

“Yeah. Everything will be fine, Vic,” Jenna added in.

I took a deep breath and rested my head against the back of the couch, closing my eyes in hope of falling asleep to escape the nightmare.
