chapter 13

Cammie's POV

Once my mother released us from her office, me, Zach, Liz, and Macey all stood outside her office and looked at one another. It felt like forever staring at each other till we decided that we'd go visit Bex in the hospital wing. Or at least try and visit her because the nurse there is very strict about who visits and when. Once we got there, we asked the nurse where Bex's room was. But all she did was point out the door and said "Rebecca Baxter is gone." At first i thought she meant Bex was dead. But then i realized is that Bex was still inside the mansion inside the achool. They i knew immediately where she was. I flew out of the hospital wing with Zach, Liz, and Macey closely behind me. I ran all the way to Mine, Bex, Macey, and Liz's suit. I threw open the door, and there sitting and waiting on my bed was my best friend in the whole world. There was Bex. She loomed at me and had a giant smile on her face. "Took you guys long enough." She said playfully. I ran over to my bestfriend with one of Zach's smirks on my face and gave her a big hug. But instead of hugging me back, she winced. And then i knew that Rebecca Baxter was not fully back yet. And not every thing was better yet. Not every thing was back to the way it use to be. And i knew that it never would. I let go of Bex the moment she winced. I looked at Zach who looked back. I saw worry in his eyes. Then i loomed over into the door way where my mother and Mr. Solomon stood. My mother holding a piece of torn paper in her hands. I let Macey and Liz hug Bex and walked over to Zach, my mother, and Mr.Solomon. My mother handed me the torn piece of paper. It read:

Dear Cammie,

By the time you are reading this Grant and I have already escaped and on our way to a place you will never find us. Also by the time you are reading this Bex will be awake and back to her normal or almost normal strong and stubborn self. Also I will tell you this once Cameron Morgan, this battle is not over, for it has just begun. I also tell you this, that Bex and your other friends will suffer much more before this battle is over. And tell Bex that this time she wont come back. Or at least when she does come back she will be in box.

P.S also tell Bex that this wont be the last of the pain from the blue liquid.

Once i finished reading the letter i looked at my mother, Zach, and Mr. Solomon. Then i looked at Bex and knew that she would not be part of this battle. And that i will make sure of that. No Matter What. Because i know that once Macey and Liz see this that they and Zach will make sure that Bex is not on the battle field what so ever. Because we all know that even Bex wont survive another one of Preston's revenges. I gave the note back to my mother. Mr. Solomon and my mother then left back to her office. I looked at Zach who kisses me on the cheek, nodded his head towards Bex who was staring at me, and left back to his suite. Once he left, so did Liz and Macey, which left me and Bex alone. I walked over to where Bex was sitting and sat besides her. She leaned back against the wall. I did also. "I know what your thinking." She said. I looked at her waiting for her to see if she was right. " I saw the letter too yah know. And i know you arent gonna let me fight in this battle easily. So, i wont." I looked at her with a shocked expression on my face. This was the first time that Rebecca Baxter had actually agreed and backed down from a battle. This was the girl who you would think let nothing stop her from something like this. But apparently a letter like that from Preston did. " Bex," I began but she cut me off. That when i saw the man in the corner of the room. " Preston's Assasin." I said. Bex nodded. Then I hit the alarm button on the wall. And me and Bex ran as fast as we could out of the room. Only to find that Bex wasnt stronge enough to run and i had to half carry half drag her all the way to the Grand Hall where everyone was eating lunch. All the way to the Grand Hall where every one stood frozen and starred at Bex with hate in there eyes. I looked at Bex who was unconscious for some reason. Then i knew what mh mother met. We werent sure if Bex was gonna make it or not. We werent sure if Bex could survive even at school because now Bex was the most wanted former student Gallagher Girl in the world and she was wanted by the most persistent, powerfulest, and revenge wanting boy in the world. Rebecca Baxter was wanted and being hunted down by Preston Winters.
