The Struggle Starts (Part 4)

Dodong (Alden) and Ursula (Maine) walk together and decided to explore the plaza.

They went to an orchestra practicing their songs. One of them is a friend of Dodong who knows that he sings well.

He called out Dodong and asked him to sing with them. When he hesitated, he teased him and said,"Isang kanta lang para sa magandang binibining kasama mo."

So Dodong sang a beautiful love song for Ursula.

They enjoyed strolling in the plaza trying out different stuffs and watching different shows that they lost track of the time.

When the bell from the church rang, Ursula remembered that she has a curfew.

Dodong called a tricycle for Ursula to ride. They hesitantly bid goodbye to each other.

But Dodong doesn't want their meeting just to end like that. So he chased the tricycle which did not go that far yet, and called Ursula.

When Ursula heard his voice calling her, she told the driver to stop for a while.

Dodong then asked her, "Pwede ba tayong magkita muli?"

Ursula asked, "Oo ba! Saan? Kelan?"

Dodong replied, "Sa makalawa, may sayawan sa bayan. Nais sana kitang maisayaw."

Ursula smiled and agreed. "Sige."

Dodong told her that he will wait for her infront of the church at around 7pm on that particular day.

Ursula went home happily. But when she arrived home, her mother and 3 aunts are already infront of their house to confront her.

"At bakit ngayon ka lang?!", Aunt Nidora (Pauleen) asked.

"Di ba may curfew ka!", Aunt Tinidora (Julia) seconded.

"Dapat bago mag ala-sais ng gabi ay nasa bahay ka na!", Aunt Tidora (Patricia) reminded.

"Bakit ngayon ka lang? Magsabi ka ng totoo!", her mom Isadora (Paolo) said angrily.

Ursula, a girl who is not used to lying, told them what she did for that day.

Isadora and her 3 sisters got angry and told her she is grounded from now on.

She was escorted by two Rogelios when she goes to her school and also when going home. At home, she is constantly accompanied by her mom and her 3 sisters alternately.

They also warned Dodong not to see Ursula again or else they will fire him from his job.

Dodong knew that it will be difficult for Ursula to make it to the dance. Still he doesn't want to give up so he wrote a letter for Ursula and gave it through her Yaya Riri (Wally) telling her he will wait for her in front of the church on that day.
