The Confrontation (Part 9)

In the mansion, Isadora arrived in the evening carrying the baby. The first one who saw her is Tidora. She was surprise and offered to carry the baby and went to her two sisters. "Look Ate Nidora and Ate Tinidora! Ang cute ng baby!"

The two sisters also fell inlove with the baby. They were a bit surprised and asked Isadora whose that baby.

Isadora told them the bad news about Ursula. The 4 sisters cried together when they learned about Ursula's death. When they calmed down, Isadora told them the situation that she saw that led her to get the baby. She knows that it was Ursula's child.

The other 3 sisters got angry when they heard the story of Isadora. Isadora then asked them to help her hide the baby because Dodong might looked for the baby. They agreed to help her. Good thing that it was the time their helpers have their yearly vacation so no helpers were at home except Yaya Riri. They will return after a week.

They were thinking of a way to hide the baby's identity. Tidora suggested that they will just say they adopted the baby. Tinidora suggested that they will just say it is Isadora's child to another man. Nidora reminded them that the image of their family should be maintained. She suggested that they will just say that the baby was abandoned by the driver and helper of Isadora's friend and that they decided to adopt her. They asked Yaya Riri to keep the secret and spread the rumor about the child's identity when the helpers come back.

The next thing they talked about is the name of the baby. Isadora saw the baby's cloth was embroidered with the initials DUB. Isadora suggested they will just give meaning to it since she was not able to get the baby's real name. Nidora suggested Divina for the D. Isadora suggested Ursula for the U in remembrance of her late daughter. Tidora suggested Bettina for the B, but Tinidora suggested that it should be a foreign name to confuse the origin of the child. She suggested to get the name from her former Russian boyfriend named Bukbukova. The 3 sisters looked at her face then nodded. Tinidora saw them and said, "Hoy, hindi ito dahil sa mukha ko!" Then Tidora suggested to use Smash as her last name so it will be foreign sound. The sisters agreed to keep the identity of the baby a secret until they die. Nidora wrote all of these in her Diary.

The day came when Dodong arrived at the mansion. He asked them to return his daughter. "Ilabas nyo ang anak ko! Isadora, alam kong ikaw ang kumuha ng anak ko!" Dodong shouted. 

The 3 sisters faced him and told him to get lost. They told him they don't know what he's talking about since they just came back from an out of the country vacation. When Dodong asked for Isadora, they said it was her turn to go on vacation and they don't know where she went .

For several days, Dodong kept coming back to the mansion pestering the Explorer sisters about his daughter. The Explorer sisters got worried that one of this days, Dodong might hear the baby crying. They were afraid of what Dodong might do to them. So Tidora suggested that they go to US. She told the others, she will go ahead to find a suitable house for them. So off she goes to US. Tinidora also suggested it might be good to stay somewhere in Europe, so she also went ahead of them.

Isadora on the other hand was still mourning the death of her daughter Ursula. In fact after she brought the baby to the mansion, she did not carry the baby anymore. She told Nidora that every time she sees the baby, she is reminded of the reason why Ursula died. She asked Nidora to take care of the child first until she get over that feeling. She told Nidora she will follow Tidora first and will try to heal her broken heart.

Nidora doesn't have any choice but be the one to take care of the baby. But because she is also scared of what Dodong might do to her to get the child, she decided to leave the mansion with the child and go to Manila. She brought Yaya Riri with her and the Rogelios. Secretly and hastily, they traveled to Manila.

She took care of the child until she grew up to be a fine lady. Nidora , for fear that Dodong might appear, stood with the fake background of the child. She called her Yaya to protect her identity. She never heard of her 3 sisters and Dodong afterwards, not until the child grew up and was known as Divina Ursula Bukbukova Smash or simply Yaya DUB.
