Taught her how to
Save for her future

Taught her anything
About happiness

Her father never
Told her any
Words of comfort

Her mother never
Taught her how to
Live with a smile

Her father never
Gave or bought
Her necessities

Her mother never
Taught her how to
Be strong

Her father never
Taught her how to
Have courage

Her mother never
Taught her how to
Wipe away her tears

Her father never
Gave her money
To buy her lunch

Her mother never
Taught her how to
Forget the past

Her father never
Taught her how to
Face her problems

Her parents never
Taught her anything
Except to be rich

Her parents never

Except for what she should be

How could her parents not?
