Waffling through the childrens rainbow

'Food stalls are now open and don't forget the singing contest at eleven o'clock.' I heard an announcement as I entered the school grounds.

It was nice and already crowded. Thats what I could say when I first entered the grounds, where the fund raising carnival was being held. But looking beyond all that you could see that a lot of hard work and love was put into this fund raiser.

White tents were put up, each of them having colourful handmade boards advertising their stall's specialty. Garlands hung in the air and I could see a bouncy castle in a corner. The air smelt of food and sweets.

It's still ten in the morning. The fundraiser goes on till six in the evening. Our drama is at one in the afternoon. I have two hours of fun before I have to leave to the auditorium to get dressed for our show.

'Yo Al over here!' I looked to my right to see Leon and Orla.

'Hey guys.'

'Just arrived?' Leon asked.

I nodded.

'Come on lets go find the others.' Orla said pulling me and Leon along with her.

An hour later, we still couldn't find the rest of our gang. Theo, Ecaria and Natalie were calling Orla and setting up different rendezvous points to meet up with us but we never met them at all. We would go to one stall and wait for them there then Ecaria would call Orla and say that they were at a different stall. It was crazy because we kept shifting to different stalls every five minutes or so. We couldnt figure out whether they were doing this for fun or were they seriously getting lost amidst this ever increasing crowd.

Finally they said for us to meet them at near the bouncy castle. After buying a whole load of sweets and munching some of them on the way we finally met up with them near the bouncy castle. Natalie was practically jumping up and down while Ecaria tried to calm her down and Theo pretended to stay a few feet away from them, most probably he didnt want being seen next to a retard aka Natalie. I didnt mean to be rude but that was just how she was acting right now.

'Whats wrong with her?' Leon gestured to me.

'Sugar rush.' Orla replied.

I raised my eyebrows.

'Whatever. Can we please go on the bouncy castle now?' Natalie begged.

'Okay. Okay.'

We bought tickets (Rs30/= each) and waited till the group of people currently in the bouncy castle got out. Each group of six people got ten minutes in the castle.

Five minutes later we were all like kangaroos inside the castle but am pretty sure kangaroos don't squeal and shriek. We seperated into two teams, Girls vs. Guys.

The player had to pin down their opposition and sit on them to win. The loser has to buy a small pizza form Pizza Hut (We have a Pizza Hut stall at the fundraiser).

Ecaria vs. Theodore

Me vs. Orla

Natalie vs. Leon

'One...Two...Three!' Ecaria shouts and we all begin our attacks.

There were punches, kicks, hair pulling and some very colourful words.

'You are going down!'

'Get ready to get your pretty butt kicked.'

'Get out while you still can pretty boy.'

'You barely have any muscle. All I can see are bones.'

'I am so winning this.'

'For Pizza!'
