Twenty Eight~Waffling Through Burghers and Fries~
I was so darn tired. It was nine in the morning here in New Zealand. Yeah we took almost a day to reach here. A transit in Malaysia and from there a nine hour to flight here and my backside is so sore from sitting far too long at the flight.
I was practically dozing off as we checked ourselves out of the airport. Since we couldn't let Halley or mum know of our arrival we couldnt contact any other relatives or friends to come pick us up which left us with only one option. Book a room at a hotel and get a taxi to get us there.
Dad was mostly quiet the entire trip and mumbled one word sentences when I questioned him so I resorted to ignoring him as well. Once we reached the hotel, dad freshened up and hit the bed immediately. I took my own cool time in doing so.
Once I was done I went out to the balcony. The clouds floated around in the blue sky.
Clouds.
Natalie.
Urgh! Really fate? She'll never be gone Alvin. Ever.
Yeah I can see that. Shaking my head from my thoughts about her I went back in to get a good sleep.
~fate, waffles & muddles~
'Al. Get up. Alvin. Up now!'
I groaned and got up, rubbing my eyes.
'What?'
'Its time to go.'
'Where?'
'Home.'
I looked at dad, confused for a moment as to what he was talking about and then it clicked me. We were here. At new Zealand. We were going to save Halley.
'Don't tell me you forgot?' Dad raised his eyebrows.
I shook my head.
'No no no I remembered. Let me just freshen up.'
Half an hour later we were in front of our house. It was still the same. On the outside. We had no idea how it was going to be on the inside. To say I was nervous was an understatement. My insides were all squirming and churning inside me and my head was pounding.
'You ready?' Dad asked.
'Not really but let's just go already.'
Dad rang the doorbell.
No one came for a couple of seconds so dad rang it for the second time. When no one answered again I just wanted to thrash the door and barge in but thank God I didn't because just then someone opened the door.
'I told you that I was coming you didn't have to ring the -' and the person stopped short as that person saw us.
That person was Halley.
None of us said anything for a few seconds until we heard my mum.
'Halley who is it?'
