It felt strange being at school so late at night, attending a school related event. Okay, let me just say a sport related event. Waste of time if you ask me. I waited awkwardly for Meghan at the entrance hall, watching people walk past me in their giddy haze.

Meghan was talking to Christian and told me she would be back to show me to my seat. That was thirty minutes ago.

"Hey look who I found." Meghan said, from behind and I turned to see her walking beside Heighton, her arm swaddled around his, Meg leaned forward and hugged me with her free arm.

"Hey." Heighton said to me with a smile.

"Hey." I responded.

"Aren't you two going to hug, I mean I did hug both of you." Meghan said with a sly smile, it was so deep even a blind person could see it.

I sighed and stepped forward and hugged Heighton, it was quick and painless.

I glared at Meghan for a second, she turned around with a squeak.
"Let's go people. I saved a special place for you on the bleachers, you're gonna love it."

I didn't, it was a horrible front row seat, where everyone could see me. I would have loved a more inconspicuous spot, I honestly didn't need to be seen at a sport event.

Heighton on the contrary was more than happy to have such seats handed out to him. I truly didn't understand why the soccer matches had to be held so late. I didn't know how long it would take for the entire game to end, but I hoped it would take less than an hour.

"Wow the freak actually came." Terra said placing her bag on one of the benches in front of us.

"Piss off." I retorted.

"What, don't you have a dead body to be looking at?"

"Don't you have a pyramid to fall off from? I promise I'll be rooting for you to fall."

"Whatever freak, enjoy your funeral." Terra sneered, pointing her finger at my attire.

"You want a funeral Terra? I'll give you one." I hissed, standing up and like the coward she was, she stumbled, backing away from me.

"Yeah run." I growled, sticking my chin out in the air. I sat down shaking my head. Terra tossed her hair and walked away.

I'd forgotten that Heighton was next to me, I only remembered when he cleared his throat after I sat down.

"You two really don't like each other." Heighton said, staring at me with a smirk.

"That girl just rubs me up the wrong way. I can't stand her face." I said and turned to glare at Terra, who was across the field then.

"To make matters worse, your names rhyme." Heighton pointed out.

"Thanks captain obvious. I hadn't realised." I seethed, at that Heighton had a light fit of chuckles and to be honest, it was contagious.

"Speaking of names who or what is a mash?" Heighton asked, once his laughter died down.

"Do you mean mash up?" I asked, an eyebrow cocked at him.

"No, yesterday you mentioned a mash when I was thanking you for showing me around." Heighton responded.

My brain went over the events of yesterday, specifically the conversations with Heighton. My lips formed an o at the realisation of who Heighton was referring to.

"MasH," I corrected, making the word sound more meaningful than how he'd said it previously. "Is Mr Maslow, I call him MasH because his name is Henry. So it's Maslow and Henry together."

It just had to be a love story.Where stories live. Discover now
