Darry and pony came running from the other room.
Jess was lying on the floor, blood oozing. Darry called the ambulance as I sat next to her warm body. It was getting cold. The bullet went right through her chest.
The rest of the gang came in and saw her body on the ground. They were in shock.
The ambulance came and lifted her into the back. We ran to the hospital to go see her.
How may I help you? The nurse at the front desk asked.
We're here for Jess Winston. I said out of breath.

With anger I ran out of the hospital and to the house. In tears I swung the door open. I picked up the phone and called 911.

I saw the gun Dallas used and I picked it up. The rest of the gang came running in. Ponyboy first, with those fast legs he always did. I was gonna miss that.
I held the gun up to my head.
