I wake up with a start. I just had a terrible nightmare. I dreamt that everyone I know and love abandoned me. I feel a tear falling down my face and then I hear a voice in my head. It says "Just give it up Jesse. Let me take over, everything will be better then." I shake my head and then get up. I will not give in to the darkness, at least not this time.
I grab the pills that stabilize my demon side and take some. As soon as I feel that weight being lifted off my shoulders, I decide to head back to bed. Once I lay down I hear Alaric say "Those pills aren't gonna work forever. You'll eventually run out. You should let me teach you how to control the demon inside you."
I stay quiet for a few moments to think about what Alaric has said. I come to the conclusion that he is right, and even if the whole control thing doesn't work it isn't like anyone will care. Chris has abandoned me, Kyle seems to be busy, Brent and Jeffrey are to into each other, Sage offered to help but I know he just wants to have his time with Alice. The only one left for me to turn to right now is Alaric. I said I wouldn't give in to the darkness and by learning to control it, I won't have to.
After making up my mind I say "Alaric, let's start my demon control training tomorrow." I can hear Alaric say "Sure thing Jesse." After Alaric says that he says "We are gonna have a long day tomorrow, get some rest Jesse." Then the room goes quiet and I fall back to sleep.
