Group Meeting

We all gather into the dining room to talk and I hold onto Chris's hand tightly the whole time. I feel if I don't keep him close he'll try to do something stupid for my own good again. He is so sweet and stupid all at the same time and I don't think I would want him any other way because I know he loves me enough to make the ultimate sacrifice of his own happiness. I look at Chris with a slight smile before turning my attention to now full dining room of people. Jackson clears his throat before telling everyone to settle down and grab a seat. Everyone takes their seats upon request and listens carefully to what Jackson has to say.

Jackson sighs and begins to speak "I have gathered you all here today because their is a threat coming for us...It is unlike anything we all have faced before. An outrageous number of demons will be making their way to the surface and are coming for one of our own. I can't ask everyone here to stay and fight but I hope you will stay if not for a fellow friend then for this place you all have called home for so long. If you wish to leave I understand but I would love it if you would stay...For whoever wishes to leave go now I have already made a new safe haven for you Dasher will escort you there..."

After Jackson finishes his speech the table goes into a uproar and I sit there knowing I am the exact reason the demons are coming. It leaves a heavy feeling in my heart that I am responsible for all the people having to leave their home. I squeeze my hand around Chris's and he looks at me stroking my hand with his thumb. I hear a few of the people in the uproar saying to just "give the person to the demons" maybe they are right I should hand myself over and save everyone a fight.

Jackson slams his hand onto the table snapping both me and everyone else out of our thoughts. He shakes his head disappointed at the group "I can't believe all of you! Would any of you want to be just offered up to evil beings?! Should I cancel the relocation and have you all thrown to the beasts you are hiding from?! I will not allow any of you to be harmed but do not offer such heinous solutions!" Jackson looks towards the group once more with clear disappointment before leaving the room.

Dasher looks after him before turning towards the group telling them the offer of relocation still remains before before going after Jackson. The whole group remains silent once they both go and Chris and I both sit up from our seats before making ourselves scarce. We make our way to our room and lay down onto the bed. I turn towards Chris staring into his eyes "He is coming for me...all these people are going to uprooted because of me. Maybe they're right about handing me over it would save everyone. This was supposed to be a safe place and I put all these people in danger..." Pushing my face into the crook of Chris's neck I begin to tear up.

Chris holds me close and rubs my back softly saying "I'll protect you and you have friends and people here who love you they'll protect you too. The people who are being moved away are going to a new safe haven it will be better for them because even if you were to give yourself over the demons know about this place now. Don't be so quick to hand yourself over fight for yourself as well as for the people who love you." He kisses the top of my head as I kiss his neck whispering "I love you" under my breath.

My impending doom put aside I felt safe in Chris's arms as I have always felt. I am going to fight for all the people that care about me I won't give up and let them I would sooner die. When everything is over I can go see my family and Alex and live my life happily. I will carry the thoughts of all  my loved ones until the day I die...hopefully it isn't soon I want to attend school again and be able to marry Chris in the future.
