"Garnet, you should really do talk to him." Steven commented. I looked over to him, confused.
He was looking out the window, a concerned smile on his face.
"Who?" I asked.
"Jamie. He's a nice guy. He put on a play that Pearl wrote."
Him.
Be nice, Ruby. Maybe we should invite him to dinner.
"Okay." I walked outside, where Jamie was crying.
"Jamie?"
"Garnet!" He jumped up, and dusted himself off. "Wh-what are you doing here? "
"I live here." He blushed. "Jamie, I like you. Just not like that. Maybe we should go to dinner? Just to keep the peace." Jamie's face lit up, and he nodded.
"Anything for you, Garnet."
Time skip
"Hey Garnet!" Jamie said. He had changed out of his uniform, and combed his hair.
"Hello, Jamie." We sat at a table on the beach, and we were all alone.
"So, the restaurant sure is quiet..." Jamie stuttered.
"Yes. I could see that."
"Oh." He blushed. "So... um... do you already have a... boyfriend? " Jamie asked awkwardly.
A boyfriend? A BOYFRIEND?
Don't get mad.
I split apart.
Ruby tackled a poor, unsuspecting Jamie.
"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND, HUH? I CANE TO EARTH TO BE FREE, NOT FOLLOW YOUR STUPID RULES!" Sapphire ran to her angry girlfriend.
"Ruby it's not his fault! He didn't know-"
"Didn't know what, Sapphire? That you're my girlfriend? Last time we split, it was because Pearl tricked us. But-"
"I WAS GOING TO SAY HE DIDN'T KNOW THAT GARNET IS A FUSION!" Sapphire screamed.
All poor Jamie could do was watch helplessly as what I later found out to be his only nice shirt burned to a crisp.
"Hey uh... guys? Not to be rude, but I don't want to be cooked alive." Ruby got off him, and I refused.
"I'm sorry, Jamie." I helped him up.
"What was that?"
"Not a what, a who." I explained fusion to him, and how Ruby and Sapphire loved each other. "Can you ever forgive me- forgive us?"
"Yeah. Now I know why I was rejected." He smiled, and I smiled back.
"Don't worry Jamie, you'll find the right girl." I pulled down my visor and winked, showing him my third eye.
"Thanks Garnet." I kissed him on the forehead, giving him future vision.
"Any time."
