"I won't let them hurt you."
He whispers as his grip tightens around me. I could feel his breath on my face.
"I know." I say as my breath hitches.
"Natalie, Promise me something."
I'm slightly shocked as he calls me by my full name but over that I'm scared of the promise he's gonna tell me to make.
"No, I know what you want me to promise you but I won't promise you that." I say.
"Please Nat, I need to know it before......"
"Before what? I'm not doing this!"
I almost shout but I can't. The lump in my throat stops me.
"Please......I beg you. I need to know it."
"No!Please!"
"Nat, Please try to understand. This is hard for me too. I don't want this either but please."
"I hate you for doing this to me." Tears roll down my face.
"I know. I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't be like this. I'm just scared."
My heartbeat fastens as I hear them ransack our apartment. Yes our apartment.
"Hey hey.....don't be scared. I'll save you . I'll protect you" He tries to confront me.
"Hmm"
"Nat, Promise me if anything happens to me you'll stay strong and forget me and be happy and most importantly stay away from all these."
"Forget you?! Be happy?!" I felt like slapping him hard. How could he even dare to say that. After all we've been through. SHIT!
"Please Nat. Promise me."
If that's what he wants to hear I'll give it to him knowing that it's a promise I'll obviously break!
"Promise"
"Please don't break it." I hear him say before everything goes black.
