The day passes by faster than any other. I sit on my desk and keep playing with my thoughts. Harry is not going to let it go. I'll have to tell him something. Should I lie? No, the last time I did that it didn't end well. Should I trust him? I don't know. But at least he cared. No one does these days but he did. I have no idea what I'm going to do.
The minute hand of the clock strikes twelve while the hour hand is on four. It's time to go home. I watch Harry with the corner of my eye as I see him getting ready to drive me home. I wasn't ready for this at all.
"Let's go Nat Nat." He says coming to my desk.
"Harry, I don't want to do this." I say standing up from my desk.
"Doesn't matter because you'll have to." He says taking my arm and pulling me with him.
"So, who's car are we riding?" He asks.
"My car."
"Okay then."
"What will happen to you're car then?"
"It'll stay here. I'll take it home later."
I mutter an 'okay' before Harry runs to the driver's seat and gets in.
"I'm driving." He says.
"No! I've got the keys I'm not giving them to you. I'm gonna drive." I say standing outside the driver's seat door.
"What does a guy gotta do to get the car keys from you?" He says before he grip's my wrists and starts tickling me around my waist. I burst into laughter trying not to let go of the key but I do.
The car ride starts silently and Harry is the one to break he silence.
"Do you want me to turn on the radio?" He asks.
"No. I'm good."
"Are you gonna tell me what happened or not?" He asks and I look for words to describe it.
"Look Harry, the things you're wanting to know are really personal matters and it's about my past. And I've known you for like what two weeks? And I don't even know you. I can't tell you anything I'm sorry." I say to him trying my best to convince him.
"Okay." He says with a deep sigh. "But at least tell me what I said that upset you. I have the right to know that."
"I.....I..." I don't know what to say. It's all so related. The entire thing about my past. Shit. I can't break down right now. I have tried so hard to build myself up. I'm not gonna break down. No.
"It's just all related to my past. And as I told you my past.....well yea I don't wanna talk about it." I say still keeping him in confusion the way he did.
"Is your past the reason why you moved here?" He asks curiously.
"Yeah. I knew I had to get away from there. So I always wanted to work at Amethyst and get out of that city." I say.
He nods his head while he parks in front of my apartment. He walks out of the car to open the door for me. As I start walking to my apartment he follows me. I give him a glare.
"Don't worry I'm not going to your apartment. I'm going to meet Ed." He says.
"Oh." I say smiling.
The elevator ride was silent and when it stops on my floor I get bid Harry goodbye and walk out.
"You should pay a visit sometime." I turn around to say to him and his smile I don't know how but it brightened my day.
