Chapter 10

Walking down the sidewalk, I kept replaying the conversation over in my head. Thinking of the possibilities that were obvious.

Option #1: Accept the offer on the table, but knowing the duo I could get caught into some weird shit real quick.

Option #2: Simple say no, yet that would mean for me to defriend them in a way, meaning that I would be fucked over.

With a sighing, I rub my neck thinking about the mess that is my life.

~Time Skip~

The bell above me rang, announcing that my shift has begun, and it's time to chill in a chair, while drinking a gallon of coffee. "Gemma!" A voice yelled, then the next thing I know, I'm on the floor. I hit the ground with someone still on me and an umbrella impaling my tailbone.

With a hiss coming from my mouth, I look up to see Clear beaming at me like I'm the best thing since sliced bread. I feel a vein about to break on my forehead, "Clear, what the actual fuck?" I say calmly, while trying to sit up.

The key word is 'trying' ladies and gentlemen. "Why what's wrong with this?" He asked trying to act innocent, but I tell that he was doing this to annoy me. Breathing in from my nose, I calm myself, and I lift myself off the ground. Clear was heavy, but not Mink heavy. Groaning from the weight on my now sore back, I walk to the counter and slide the white haired man onto the glass.

"Why?" I say while plopping myself down into the spinny chair. Clear looked at me, but this time with disapproval, "Tch, why won't you let someone give you affection?" He said while standing up and leaning on the counter. Another sigh came from me, not to mention a major headache. "Why do you carry around a see through umbrella?" I ask while putting my feet up on the counter, a good distance from the curious man.

"Why did you answer my question with a question?" He asked, tilting his head slightly.

"Why did you question my question?" I ask while leaning against the comfortable chair.

After a moment of silence, he sighs like he's exhausted just talking to me. He looks calm enough, but I noticed that his eye twitched slightly.

Smiling, I decide to test him, "So, do you like riddles Clear?" I say while picking up my thermos in my bag. I guess the riddle thing got his attention, "What's the riddle?" He asked while standing up straight, genuinely curious now.

"Well, it'd be quite unfair, if it was just a riddle nothing else. So how about a bet." I say while taking a sip of the still warm coffee in the thermos. He looks at me then the counter, and nods. "Okay, so if I get the riddle correctly, what do I get?" He asks while looking intensely at me.

"Anything within reason, and if you can't guess it correctly, you have to give me your umbrella for a month." I said while staring at him, egging him on to take the bet. Smiling, he nodded excitedly, "And if I win, I get to hug you whenever I see you." He said while impossibly, smiling even wider. I gulp and nod my head, brain scattering for the hardest riddle. Finally, I thought of it. "This is the riddle, remember that you can't search it up, or ask anyone for the answer." I say while sitting back on the chair. He nods, focused as ever.

"Caesar is dead on the floor. Julia is standing over his body, she did not touch him. Caesar was not poisoned, shot, stabbed or choked. How did Caesar die?" I say smugly, knowing that little to no one knew the answer. Clear looked up to the ceiling, obviously thinking about hard about the riddle.
