//Alexa's POV//

This last month had been hell, grandma was treating me like shit, and Jionni was no help cause all he wanted to do was smoke and drink, I was living in hell.

"I gotta get out of here" I said as I paced around. "there's no way out of here" Jionni said. "for the love of god stop smoking, I can't tell if you're sober or high anymore" I said," I don't care if I have to runaway, I'm not staying here any longer" I said. "take me with you" Jionni said. "Jionni, you're nineteen you can leave when ever you please. "Ive tried" Jionni said.

"Hello?"

"im not staying here any longer"

"Alexa you cant runaway"

"I can and I will"

"Alexa wait"

I quickly hung up and faced Jionni. "Im leaving" I said.

//Markus' POV//

"She's going back home" Gavin said. "Perfect, let's move" I said and signaled for David to grab my bag.

I was going to end it all tonight.

//Alexa's POV//

"Let's get out of here" I said as Jionni grabbed his bags. "How are we gonna get out of here?" Jionni asked. "We're both American Citizens we can get out of here pretty easily " I said," grandma is in Sinaloa, so here's when" I said and we walked out.

"Welcome to Chicago" I said as we walked out of the airport.

"Now what?" Jionni asked. "We're going to the station" I said and we hailed a taxi.

"Alexa what are you doing?" Antonio asked. "Living with grandma is living hell" I said. "Your dad is going to raise hell" Antonio said. "Worth it, where's Luka?" I asked. "at the apartment, go visit him" Antonio said after he hugged me. "I'm going to look around. Then I'll be flying to California" Jionni said. "Call me" I said and smiled.

"Hey loser" I said as I walked in.

"What are you doing here?" Luka asked. "I came back" I said and hugged him. "Your grandmother is going to be pissed" Luka stated. "I know. But I can't stand her either way" I said.

//Markus' POV//

"Its time" I said as I grabbed the gun and placed it in my belt. "Alexa you're paying your dues tonight" I said and David and I walked out.

We arrived where they would be holding Alexa's party, Voigt's apartment.

"I'm going in. After you hear the gun shot turn on the car" I ordered David.

I walked out and walked towards Voight's house.

I walked to the front door and got ready. Point and shoot.

//Alexa's POV//

"Thought of what college you're going to attend?" Erin asked. "I'm feeling Michigan State" I said," Luis here wants to go to North Dakota," I said. "I wanna try something new" Luka said. "whats wrong with Michigan State?" I asked. "You're gonna be there" Luka said. "jerk" I said and pushed him.

"Graduation is coming up, what would you guys like?" Kevin asked. "A car" "money" Luka and I said in unison. "We'll see" Antonio said and laughed.

"You're done Alexa" I heard someone shout as the door flew open. Seconds later there was a gunshot and I fell to the ground.

I looked around and suddenly everything was in slow motion. I saw Antonio and Jay run after who had fired. Voight was on the phone calling someone. I looked over at Luka and saw him on the floor, Kim and Erin were surrounding him while Kevin ran upstairs.

I moved to where Luka was lying and saw that he was covered in blood. He had pushed me out of the way, he took a bullet for me.

I watched as the paramedics arrived and took Luka away. I begged to go but Adam held me back.

"Its best you stay" he said.

"we gotta go to the hospital" I said quickly and ran out.

We got into the car and drove off.

Twenty minutes later Antonio and Jay arrived. "who was it?" I asked. "Markus and David" Antonio said. "did you catch them?" I asked. "yes" Jay said. "Hows Luka?" Antonio asked Voigt. "we haven't heard from the doctors" Voigt said.

"The family members of Luka Madison" The dr asked as he walked out. "thats us" I said quickly. "The bullet impacted the major artery. We tried t save him, I'm sorry" he said and took of his glasses. "he's dead?" I asked. "We did everything we could" he said. "no he cant be dead" I said and started crying.

"Alexa honey" Erin said and hugged me. "he took a bullet for me" I cried,"he's gone" I sobbed.

The next hours were a blur. I was taken home so that I could get some rest.

I walked into Luka's room and sat on his.

"You took a bullet for me" I whispered. On the dresser were two white envelopes.

I got up and opened them.

"Mr. Madison we'd like to congratulate you on your scores on the ACTs, we are pleased to offer you admission to Michigan State university" I read and started crying. "he got accepted" I said and opened the second envelope.

"Ms. Marquez we'd like to congratulate you on your scores on the ACTs, we are pleased to offer you admission to Mich-" I read but stopped midsentence when I saw what he had written in the bottom.

Planning on telling Alexa at Graduation, until then Ill have to keep acting like Im going to North Dakota :)
