Shai's POV
'What is the chance of me getting out of tonight's family dinner?" I ask and my mom shakes her head.
"Not good." she says and I sigh and continue to cook.
"Mom you know grandma and grandpa hate Harry, therefor they hate me." I say. "it's just awkward and uncomfortable, and no one enjoys it."
"You are not going to miss this dinner three days before your sisters' wedding just because you and your boyfriend don't want to be here."
"Mom they don't want us here. I mean we have tried, but they hate us. How can my own grandparents hate me?" I ask and as if on que Harry walks in.
"I know tonight may not be fun for you two, the next couple days won't, just make the best of what is going on please." she says quietly. "Now Harry you can help Shai. It will keep you away when they arrive." She leaves the kitchen, leaving us alone.
"Well, do you want to help me make this cake?" I ask and he laughs and puts his arms around my waist.
"I would really like if we could stay in here alone all night." he says and kissese me on the neck. "That would be more fun."
"I could think of several things that would be more fun," I tell him and turn around to face him. "Now, are you going to help me?" I ask with a smile.
"Depends, do I get paid?" he smirks and I kiss him. "Hmmm yeah I'll help."
We both turn back to the counter and I let him know how he can help, soon enough we are almost done making my sister's favorite chocolate chip cookie dough cake; which I was surprising her with on this very special night. If I wouldn't enjoy it, at least she could. The next three days had to be exactly perfect for her otherwise I would forever blame myself..
"And now just to let it cook," I say as I put it in the oven and turn around to see Harry standing with the bowl in his hands. "Harry, what are you doing?" I ask and he smiles.
"Enjoying the left overs," he says and swipes his finger across the bowl. "Want some?"
"No." I say wide eyed. I knew where he was going with this... "Harry please, just put the bowl in the sink.
"Why? Don't you want some delicious cake batter?" he asks moving towards me slowly.
"Harry please stop." I say trying not to smile. "I don't want to get my dress dirty."
"Why are you wearing a dress? I remember when you never wore dresses."
"It's a special night."
"That would be a shame if you got food on yourself then huh?" he asks and my back hits the countertop. Crap.
"Harry please! I'm begging you," I say and he smiles.
"Just have a taste." He says and hands me the bowl. He eats the batter off his fingers and I take a bit. "Now I know why your sister loves this so much."
"Yeah, Hannah and I found this recepie when I was like fifteen and we made it and Sarah loved it." I say and set the bowl down. "Now that I'm done with my heart attack, I think we could get the plates-"
"Nope," he says and picks me up quickly making me laugh. "We can rest for a while."
He spins me around, making me laugh even more, and then he stops and kisses me.
"Ahem," I hear someone clear their throat and I turn around to see Trevor standing in the doorway. "Shai, your grandparents are here."
"Great," I say. "Tell them we are busy."
