When she told me
Chapter 1
The day was already ruined, I told my younger brother as I walked down the stairs rubbing my eyes to adjust the to insultingly bright room. "If it was to be perfect I would not be up yet and would still think it was night". I jumped the last to steps, as my feat hit the wooden floor I heard my dad curse from the table probably still irritated by the recent job cuts that are all over the newspaper at the moment. Personally I just think there working overtime so they don't get cut as well. I slumped into the cold but welcoming chair opposite from my dad, before putting several cereals into one bowl, not thinking about what they would taste like. I swung back on my chair to look at the clock on the kitchen wall, 8:10. I cursed in my head, I needed to be quick, I took a spoonful of my breakfast create, realised I wasn't in the mood and went to get dressed. It was the first day back at school after the summer. It wasn't very welcoming, summer had been amazing, there had been so many parties and crazy days when we just did things that would have got us shot down in the public eye. I was quite a different person than I was 6 weeks ago, my hair had highlights through it, which I had always thought I was to much of a guy for and I seemed to take a lot more pride in my appearance, I knew why, so did everyone else. I denied it though, to stubborn to let them think they can see through me. It was Sierra, I had known her since I was 12. We had always been moderately good friends but there was something about her that I liked even more now. Every time I saw her she seemed to be getting more beautiful, I knew I wasn't the only one noticing it even though it was so discrete, I couldn't even see what it was, the was of average height, long hazel hair to her ass then dreaded to her knees. She had a full face, with eyes to match her hair, with damn eyes that you cannot stop day dreaming in, meaning its bloody well hard to keep a conversation going.
I ran down the stairs, going back up to the 3rd step to look in the mirror, I looked taller than I did last time I wore these type of cloths, but not tall enough for them not to fit, my tie was done up half way down my chest and the collar was half up, I grinned at the mirror knowing that I would turn a few heads when I walked though the corridors. Grabbing my bag pack of the stool, running through the dinning room to fast for dad to comment on my scruffiness. The school was practically at the end of my street; I always got there early because I liked to meet up with people before registration. As I walked I bumped into Rysiaki, a small rather dark dressing kid that id been best friends with in primary school "Oi, Syuka, not seen you all summer" he grinned smashing his fist against my back. I laughed and told him I had been occupied, which to be fair was true. "Sierra, I've spent half the summer with her (as friends, of cores) and the rest of it dreaming about her". We both laughed as we walked through the gates of Hawthorne High, Rysiaki waved as he walked of towards he courts and I walked towards the entrance hall, a large white room filled with dark blue plastic furniture and excited pupils. I was suddenly glad to be there, I was greeted by many voices as I entered, none approached me, just how I like it I prefer to walk around by myself with out a crowd of accompaniment. The bell rang from above my head creating a stir of people and also my head, I didn't remember it being that loud, but without reason to complain aloud I headed to my reg class. As I walked into the fairly stereotypical classroom, I noticed that Sierra had moved to the back of the class to the empty seat to my left. She smiled with joy as I entered which always pleased me. She was leaning forwards on the desk with her elbows. She had a bright yellow nail varnish on and countless number of bracelets on her arms of many colours that if were placed on anyone else would have been an eyesore. Her black converts were curved round the back legs of her chair tapping to what must have been some sort of music she was listening to by headphones. As I took up my seat I noticed that they were closer than they should have been, not that I was complaining about it.
"Wowza, were like seniors now!" she said sounding as if Elvis had risen from toilet. I smiled and once again I was lost in her eyes. I could have stared all day but when the sound of her laugh came I felt the redness in my cheeks follow. She laughed again and spoke to the teacher as she said her name, and then again for mine as usual, im too slow in the mornings. As the bell went I walked with Sierra to are next class which was unfortunately geography with Mr Munday, thankfully no one from are reg class was in it for them to snigger and are sudden friendship. It went quite fast as are teacher just gave us questions to do. I kept playing with Sierra's hair, mainly because it made her pay more attention to me rather than all the other guys that wanted her. But thankfully she seemed to like me more, which of coarse set my stomach floating of to Pluto. Mr Munday called us to a tension, to announce a project due for the end of the week, a partnered project, and before I could even bring the thought to mind there was some bright yellow nails digging into my shirt and a pair of colourful bracelet covered arms rapped around my left arm, and at my ear giggle turned into a soft almost unhearable voice,
" I've got my partner".
And of cores that set my stomach on past Pluto into the next galaxy.
The rest of the day went pretty fast, nothing much had changed from before summer, some new couples going out, some old ones not. Apart from that it was same old. As the bell ran at the end of the day I found I was greeted at the end of the day by a smiling creature with hazel hair swinging back and forwards on the railings. She jumped of to meet me, full of energy as usual.
"Hello stranger" I said as I greeted her ecstatic entrance.
"Hi, we have project to do this week, you want to come to my house tomorrow?"
This question was in place to try and mask her arm slipping through mine.
Her skin was not warm but neither cold, it was as if it was unaffected by temperature. It was smooth, flawless and heart warming to be in contact with.
I nodded. Driven on by instinct, instinct of what I wanted right now, I unlinked are arms and placed mine gently round her shoulder, ignoring voices and whistles from behind.
I caught a glimpse of her smiling and leaning on my shoulder. The walk home seemed to take forever, but forever didn't seem so bad with her. We got to my gate and she stopped, obviously remembering where I lived.
She turned leaving my hand resting on her shoulder, she looked up and me for once gazing in to my eyes as I gazed into hers, before I could even think what to do next she was on her tiptoes, lips on mine. My hands were on her back pulling her tighter towards me and supporting her action, hers around my neck, fingers twisting in my hair. Her tongue was in my mouth, no warmer than the rest of her body but still if not more as pleasant. It all seemed to happen to fast. As she slipped away my arms came away from her back and she turned with a smile and skipped round the corner. As I turned with my stomach shooting into the next solar system. I was hopping she wasn't wearing any lipstick as my hand touched the door handle, It all went black and the sound of my alarm clock made me realise something, it was just a dream. As I sat up leaning forward out of bed and letting my eyes adjust a slightly more edgy thought came to my head, who in gods name was that girl?
