Something I Need.

Chapter 6

I step back and take in my handy work, it looks okay. I went out and bought a few new things after dinner but min managed to convince me to settle in today and go job hunting tomorrow. I still have quite a bit of money so I agreed in the end.

My room is a cream colour and my bed is a green and silver, I have fairy lights on my bed (cause who doesn't these days!) And a pin board with pictures and rosettes from when I competed in dog agility. I've finally, after all these years, found the courage to put them on display and remember the good times. It still hurt though when min asked where my dog was. I told her but I said Milly went missing instead of what actually happened that night. She said she was sorry and left. I wish I hadn't told her, I should have told her it was my mum's dog, at least it wouldn't be awkward then.

I have decided that I should get to know min and Bill, and the best way to do that is a movie night! Even better, a horror movie night. 👻

"Hey min! Want to have a movie night?"

"OMIGOSH YASSSSS!" She jumps of the sofa and runs to the kitchen, bill lifts his head curiously but decides sleep is more important right now. Well that was until min reappeared with a bowl of popcorn. Bill jumps out of his bed and onto my lap, he stares intently at the popcorn. I laugh harder than I think I have ever laughed before. Min also starts cracking up at bills face, he ignores us and instead does a leap of faith onto the coffee table and starts noisily munching on our popcorn. This sends us into another fit of laughter. We eventually pry bill of the coffee table and away from our popcorn. He just sits in the corner pulling a sad face. I feel kinda bad but he can't eat our popcorn.

Min and I stay up almost all night watching scary movies and sharing stories. I got to say she had a much nicer childhood than me! It turns out she's only 5 days older than me! She has 3 brothers, WOW! I thought it would be awful if I had just one brother, luckily I am an only child. Min makes sure not to ask me about Milly again, I'm grateful. I want to be friends with her and if she brings up Milly I'll have to tell her, she won't like me after she knows what happened. 

We decide to watch a family friendly film to help us forget the films we just watched. In the end we choose lassie. I used to love this film! When it's over we both go to our rooms to get some sleep. I feel like I have my first proper friend. If you don't count Milly I don't think I can name one friend. I just hope Min actually likes me and isn't just being nice because it's my first night here. Tomorrow I will find a job.
