I awoke to another burning pain in my shoulder. I groaned as even little movements made it worse. Laying on my back, I stared up to the ceiling filled with the story of mates and love. I had always loved those paintings and carvings each time I had woken up but now, they didn't mean anything to me. I despised it with all the hate running through my veins.
Forcing myself to sit up, I whimpered. I threw the blanket off and headed towards the bathroom and locked it when I entered then walked to the mirror and cringed. It was really red and looked deep, but it was beautiful no doubt. I shook my head and stripped down after turning on the water to the glass shower.
I took my time, avoiding to touch his mark as much as I can when rubbing my body with the body wash. The water eased away the pain, which I was thankful for, and washed away the excess blood that was still there.
After seeing my fingers wrinkled, I sighed and turned off the water. Stepping out, I went to the closet and grabbed a towel and then wrap it around myself. I bent down and grabbed my old duffle bag from in the closet and took out my clothes and undergarments.
I wiped myself dry then pulled on a pair of turquoise skinny jeans and a white sweater hoodie. I took out a pair of white socks and slipped my feet into my white vans. I kicked my bag back in the back of the closet and pushed boxes to hide it.
Exiting, Dante was still sleeping on the futon with an arm draped over his eyes and his other arm was hanging off the couch. I stared at him for awhile, hating myself for what I was feeling. I went out of the room quietly and headed downstairs and out the door while ignoring everyone's call outs.
I walked down the driveway and through the trees until I made it to the place where the boys had shown me when I first got here. The bunny rabbits hopped about and the branches swayed nicely in the little breeze that there was. I walked over to giant rock and sat crossed legged and just watched nature at its best.
Birds were chirping, bunnies hopping, leaves falling, and the sun was high in the sky and wrapping me in its warmth. Finally feeling that my mind was at peace, I just laid on my side down on the giant flat rock and deeply breathed. A bunny came walking up to me and laid close as its nose nudged my hand. "Hey cutie," I whispered as I stroked its head and down its back.
The rabbit shook its fur and laid closer as I continue to pet it gently. It's fur was soft and fluffy and its silver spots popped out even more in the sun. It eventually drifted to sleep as I, too, was getting tired. "Baby cake?" Alex's voice softly came from behind me.
I didn't answer, instead, I moved the rabbit flush against me and held it like a teddy bear. "Baby cake, please don't do this to me. I'm sorry," his voice slightly cracked. He had sounded closer to me now and his shadow casted over me. "Baby ca-"
I shot up and shoved him away. "Don't give me that shit Alex!" I glared angrily at him with fire in my eyes. "I don't want to fucking hear a single word from you or anybody else."
He looked so tired and worn out. His face was droopy and had dark bags under his eyes. His eyes were red, probably from lack of sleep, and he stood before me powerless. Alex looked at me with shimmered eyes, "I just wanted the best for you. The both of you guys. I didn't want to lose you again, Lenny."
My lips slightly trembled as I glared at him with all the hate running through my body, "All my life, the people all around me always had made the best choices for me. Thinking that, what they chose was actually best when they were all wrong. What they chose were not choices to make it better for me but for them."
I stepped towards him as my nose and eyes stung. "You were afraid to lose me. What am I to you that makes you scared? Your true Luna? Your friend?" I shook my head, "I'm nobody to you, Alex, nor am I anybody else to everyone else. I am but a girl who hid behind a statue of herself as she played along with the lies that people say to her."
