"but, what if jason mace is telling the truth?" danielle asks and evelyn looks confused at her friend. they were on the porch of dani's house, waiting for calum's party to start. "maybe he was having an affair with your mom. i mean, your dad is constantly out on business trips, it's an easy shot. maybe your mom was just unhappy." the blonde shrugged, sucking on her signature blue lollipop.

"if they were having an affair, then how come jason didn't prove it in court?" evelyn challenged.

"well, technically you can't prove a rumor. that's why it's a rumor." she pointed out, literally with her lolli.

"exactly. created by that tabloid twat, sarah hart." evelyn said coldly, looking around as if sarah hart was going to show up.

"it goes so much farther back, eve. there are even more rumors of other men being seen with her." danielle looks at evelyn with pity.

"and you, out of all people, believe them?" evelyn's voice cracks, and she can't help but feel betrayed.

"i'm sorry eve, but you can only hear stories like this so many times before it gets to your head." she shrugged, fixing her bra strap that had fallen off her freckled-covers shoulders.

"y-you do know if i was wrong about jason, that the killer is still on the loose?" evelyn said, her eyes wide with fear as she looked around dani's yard once again.

"come on, evelyn. don't go there. you're starting to sound like you're in some steven king film or something. don't freak yourself out, we have a long night ahead of us. okay? let's boogie." dani stood up and shook her hips, throwing her lollipop stick in the bushes infront of her house. her lips and tongue were now an evident blue, an odd contrast to her pale skin and blonde hair.

the two friends don't see it, or know, but the killer is closer than they think.

luke is at work, walking down the aisles of the movie store, stocking up new films that recently came out. luke loved horror movies. he was all about the mystery, and the action, but more the violence of all things. his girlfriend, reese, is the exact same way. they both watch old horror films together every friday, but tonight, luke convinced her to go to calum's "celebration" party.

"hey, dude." luke turns around, chomping on his gum while grinning stupidly. it was calum. he knocked the movie cases from luke's hand, on purpose.

"oh, sorry." calum laughs.

mimicking calum in an annoying tone, "oohh, dork." he rolled his eyes picking up the movies from the floor.

"jesus, this place is packed tonight, eh?" calum said looking around.

"yeah, we had a run-in at the mass murder section." luke chuckles.

"so, you coming to my fiesta?" calum asks, eyes wide, big smile.

"yep, i get off early because the curfew," luke replied. suddenly a girl came up to luke, asking where a certain movie was. "oh, ouija? that's in horror straight ahead." he said not even looking up, still stacking cases. when luke turned as the girl thanked him, he squinted his baby-blues as something in particular caught his eye.

"what?" calum asked, following his gaze.

"if you were the only suspect in a senseless bloodbath, would you be standing in the horror section?" luke looked at ashton as he was checking the horror films out. calum reached his gaze.
