Natasha Grayson knew she was not pretty. She was also not expecting great things from her meagre life. Her father was the land steward in the house of the Marquis of Crowcombe. Her mother had died four years ago. Her father remarried and her stepmother’s only ambition was to send Natasha’s young brother, Benjamin off to boarding school and to keep Natasha slaving away in the kitchen.
