This chapter is starting off with a three way conversation on the phone between Kris, Sterling, and Brandon.
How you'll tell who is talking is that Brandon will be the underlined text. Sterling will be the italics text. And Kris will be regular text.
+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+"Oh come on Sterling." I groaned into the phone.
"I refuse to meet with that bastard he doesn't deserve to even be near you." Sterling mumbled on the other end."Sterling, all we need to do is act like we're friends." Brandon spoke up, shuffling heard in the background.
"See?" I said," It's just one night, and either way we have to at least be on good terms... Fake or not."Sterling sighed, most likely rolling his eyes in the process.
"Whatever but so help me I'm not gonna be able to handle him for more than 3 hours.""Kris!" Brandon yelled,"Homecoming! That can be the night, that way we're in public and we're all enjoying it."
"That could actually work," I said, a smile playing on my lips.
"And homecoming is only a couple hours." Brandon pointed out, I sat up on my bed as I heard a knock at the door.
"Hold on guys." I said, setting my phone down. My sister wasn't here and neither were my parents so I was confused who was knocking at the door.Walking down the steps, I pulled the sleeves of my hoodie down slightly and opened the front door.
There stood a girl with green and purple hair, holding a cat.
"Hi, sorry to bother you, but is this yours?" She asked. I looked over at the cat and nodded slowly.
"Yeah, he's mine, sorry if he bothered you." I mumbled, gently taking him from her arms," he likes the outside more.""It's totally cool!" The girl said.
"Hey, wanna come in?" I asked," it's a bit cold for me to be standing with the door open.""Hmm?" She pondered," oh yeah sure sorry."
The girl side stepped into the doorway and I shut the door, letting my cat down from my arms.
"Wait...your friends with Brian Dan right?" The girl suddenly said.
"Brian Dan?" I questioned, confusion spread across my face.
"Brandon." She corrected, a smile forming on her lips."Oh!" I said, almost forgetting about my phone upstairs. Also, good news, I got a new phone. But I'll tell you guys later.
As I climbed the stairs to my room, I told the Girl that she could come up.
" Wait.... No no no no, that isn't what I mean, what I mean is that we need to-" Brandon was saying before I interrupted him.
"Okay before you guys kill me, I need to call you guys back, and remember Homecoming is tomorrow so make sure ya'll are ready to face asshole." I said, but before they could respond, I clicked end and locked the screen of my phone. I laughed up at the girl, " you know I don't know your name..."She laughed.
"I'm Athena from Mount Olympus." She said, putting her hands on her hips and putting on an announcer voice. I laughed, a smile playing on my lips," Well Athena, I'm Kristy... Although most people call me Kris.""Eh, I'll think of a nickname for you." She shrugged, messing with my colored pencils.
"Okay then...." I laughed," if you want you can color with them.... I don't mind it."
Athena smiled and grabbed my pencils as I told her where I kept some loose paper.I watched her sketch something really quick and then start to color it.
This is the start of a new friendship.
+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_For the last time I looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a white longsleeve with blue anchors on it and a pair of blue bleached stained skinny jeans to match.
I grabbed my wallet and placed it in my back pocket along with my phone and house keys. I texted my mom telling her that I'm leaving and walked out the front door, locking it in the process. What sucks is that my mom is at work, my dad is who knows where and my sister is hanging with her friends like she always is. So usually until about 9 every day, I don't get to see my parents or family. But hey, the whole house to myself, hell yeah.
I climbed into Brandon's moms car and smiled.
"Hello." I said," I'm Kris.""Brandon!" His mom said, completely bewildered," You never told me Kris was a girl."
I held in a small giggle as I heard Sterling lightly whisper," OooooOoOoOooo""Mom.... I told you, you just didn't listen." Brandon muttered. I continued to stifle my laugh, holding my hand over my mouth casually as I looked over at Brandon with raised eyebrows.
"Shut up Kris!" He hissed, giving me a playful push. I finally laughed and shook my head.
"I didn't say anything,"I claimed, putting my hands up laughing a little.
Brandon narrowed his eyes and smiled also.
"Awh... Who can disagree with the beautiful unicorn." Sterling said, poking my cheek. I swatted his hand away from my face and crossed my arms, pretending to throw a fit.
"Hey do you guys want any drinks?" Brandon asked," On me.""Yeah I guess." Sterling and I said in sync. I glared at him, but laughed anyways.
"Hey mom, can you stop at the Gas Station?" Brandon asked. His mom nodded in reply and turned into the gas station.Brandon hopped out of the car and almost sprinted into the gas station. About 4 minutes later and an intense breath holding contest between Sterling and I, Brandon returned with a monster, and two mountain dews one blue and one red. I smiled before he handed me the blue Mountain Dew. Since he spent his money on us I didn't want to complain. So I just set the Mountain Dew in the cup holder. I heard Brandon laugh before switching the Monster with the Mountain Dew. I smiled and opened the monster faster than.... Well I don't know but it was fast.
We continued to the game and I hopped out of the car with a small smile on my face. I love watching high school football games. They're a lot more interesting than NFL because high school kids are still learning. Although watching Hockey is coming in close. I waited for Brandon and Sterling before I felt someone jab two fingers into my side. I jolted forward and screamed a little, before glaring at the asshole that did it.
"Found your weak spot." Carter mumbled, a small smirk taking place on his face.
"Kris?" Sterling called," You alri-- Oh it's you."
Carter bowed dramatically, causing me to roll my eyes."So you must be ticklish..." Carter smirked, once he stood up. I scoffed, crossing my arms and rolling my eyes once more.
"You're Crazy" I shot, walking towards Brandon, placing my arm on his shoulder as I listened to him talk to Sterling.+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_
