5 Years Later

"So I have something for you guys." I said and the crowd went wild. It still amazes me how they can make such noise throughout the whole concert. "Since this is my last concert, I managed to get Niall to come out here and sing one of songs for you guys." And they went crazy.

"As you all know, he wrote most of my songs, but here's something I never told you guys. I few years ago when Niall moved in with me, I found a book but I didn't open it. When I asked Niall what it was, he said it's kinda like his diary, he wrote what he was feeling in there, and I left it alone. Whenever I saw it, I would put it in Niall's drawer and let it be.

"Three years ago, he showed me the book. I opened it for the first time and read it. I found songs in there, a who bunch of them, some were happy and some were sad. But I noticed that the first half were the sad half and the rest was happy.

"So after I was done reading, I asked him how he began to write and he told me he was listening to The Script one time and he got the idea from them. So he gave me the happy songs that you guys have heard, but kept the other ones to himself.

"So I asked him to sing for you guys tonight and after begging and slaving, he agreed. You guys owe me. So here to sing the last song of the night, Niall Payne." Yes you heard that right, Niall and I got married four years ago and we adopted a child who is 13 now. This is my last concert because I want to focus on Niall and building a family together.

I sat down on a piano and Niall came out and took the mic with his guitar. "Okay so this is the first time doing this and I'm nervous as hell. Here goes nothing." He looked at me and nodded for me to start.

"Crowded hallways are the loneliest places
For outcasts and rebels
Or anyone who just dares to be different
And you've been trying for so long
To find out where your place is
But in their narrow minds
There's no room for anyone who dares to do something different
Oh, but listen for a minute

Trust the one
Who's been where you are wishing all it was was sticks and stones
Those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
And you're not alone
Hear me out
There's so much more to life than what you're feeling now
Someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be
Invisible

So your confidence is quiet
To them quiet looks like weakness
But you don't have to fight it
'Cause you're strong enough to win without a war
Every heart has a rhythm
Let yours beat out so loudly
That everyone can hear it
Yeah, I promise you don't have to hide it anymore
Oh, and never be afraid to do something different
Dare to be something more..."

I looked out at the crowd and saw they had tears in their eyes. I don't blame them, this song hits close to home for almost everyone, myself included. I cried so hard when Niall sang it to me after writing it.

I think it's gonna be an anthem for those who are different and are looking for someone who understands what they are going through.

The song ended and I stood up to go next to Niall and watched the audience take it in while we take it in ourselves. This is the last time I'll be on stage.

"This song will be on the last album. This album will have 20 songs on it, I will be singing, Niall will be singing, and do you remember Harry and Louis? Those guys that came out here once and sang with me?" They screamed as they remembered Larry. "They'll be there too and I have Ed and Zayn. It's a thank you to all of you, that's why there are so many songs and people." I said as I tried to hold in my tears, but I think they saw

"Thank you guys so much." My voice cracked as I said that. I took a bow and left the stage as tears rushed down my face.

This has been my life for so long, it had it's ups and downs, but I made it. I'm very thankful for this life, if it wasn't for it, I wouldn't have met Niall.

"Hey, it's okay." Niall said as he hugged me. I felt more arms wrap around us and looked up to see everyone hugging us and whispering words of comfort.

we hugged for a while before breaking and saying our goodbyes. Niall, Hunter and I walked to our car and drove home. "I'm proud of you, papa." Hunter said.

"Thank you." I said to him.

We drove home in silence. Niall parked the car in the garage and went inside. "Movie marathon?" Niall asked.

"Can we start with The Hunger Games?" Hunter asked. He is obsessed with it even though its been years since it's been made.

"Yeah, sure." I said. We went to our bedroom after getting snacks and all four movies. We then got into bed and cuddled together.

And later that night as I looked at my family asleep, I felt contentment settle in, and I knew I had made the right decision.

I also have been reading the comment and I gotta say, @messiah2017 comments made me laugh, almost half of them were flagged inappropriate.

Thanks for all the support especially @kadiebmore who has been with this story from the beggining and encouraged me.

By the way, the song Niall sings is Invisible by one of my favorite singers, Hunter Hayes
