When Dr. August arrived home, he noticed that Numra and Christina wasn't there. After a long day of working at the office with many other women, he couldn't help but to think of the guilt of not remembering Jayla's birthday. He dropped everything and called her, what would be the 15th time that he's tried to reach her since he's left.

"Hey it's Jay!" Jayla's voicemail chanted. "Leave a voicemail after the beep."

*boop*

"Oh come on, Jayla." Dr. August groaned as he quickly hung up and dialed her number, calling her back. "Pick up."

Dr. August listened into her call hoping that she'd answer. Finally after a long pause, he heard Jayla come back onto the phone.

"What, Chresanto?!" Jayla barked.

"Jayla can you listen to me for a second?" Dr. August plead.

"Stop fucking calling me!" Jayla growled.

"Jayla just listen for one quick second!" Dr. August snarled. "Damn!"

"Yeah what?" Jayla scoffed. "I don't care what you have to say. I'm not forgiving you."

"Jayla I really apologize for not knowing your birthday." Dr. August rambled, trying to get it out before she hung up. "It was very inexcusable on my part and.....I'm sorry. I just really thought that it was in August."

"My birthday was yesterday. Asshole."

Suddenly, Dr. August heard a loud click on the other line. He knew that she hung up. He tried reaching her twice more, but she kept on sending him to voicemail. Right when he was about to call her again, Numra and Christina walked through the door with some food. They had white rice with egg rolls, something else that they always ate outside of their culture.

"Chresanto, I got you some egg wrap." Numra smiled as Christina set the boxes down.

"Chrissy, can I talk to your mother really quick?" Dr. August asked. "It won't take long."

"Sure." Christina said as she wandered off.

"What's wrong?" Numra asked.

"What did you say to Jayla?" Dr. August asked in a stern tone.

"Is that that girl that dresses half naked all of the time?"

"Yes."

"I was in the middle of cooking the vegetable soup I made for dinner and she steps in my face, barking at me because I told Christina not to idolize her." Numra snapped in her heavy accent. "She got so offensive and started getting all in my face for it! In my culture, you cannot interfere with women who show skin to the world. It's not appropriate!"

"Numra, you have to understand that not everyone knows your culture." Dr. August sighed. "It seems like you're just coming after her for no reason."

"She came at me!" Numra said in a loud tone. "She was the one who was judging me for having a baby at 15 and talking about how much of a bitch I was, talking about how I didn't deserve to be with you since I went out of the country and didn't tell you about Christina, so I just told her that she isn't as important as she thought she was. I told her to ask you if you know what her birthday was and she'd get the opposite answer that she expected."

Dr. August couldn't believe it. He sat down on the couch and covered his face, letting out a deep breath.

"I didn't know her birthday and I should've." Dr. August growled. "I've known her for too long. She's pissed at me."

Numra felt a little sorry for her, but not that much. She sat next to him and looked at him in a bland tone.

"What'd she say?" Numra asked.
