"Sir, we--"
"Have you completed the serum for the bird kids?" The Main Man interrupted the Whitecoat.
"Erm, no sir. But--"
"Then what other excuse do you have to be in here?" He looked at him with annoyed suspicion.
"But we have an in-" suddenly, the door behind them slammed open, and Amalda walked in, a trail of unconscious Erasers behind her.
"Ah, Amalda. So nice to see you again."
"Shut up that ridiculous act. I'm only here for answers." Amalda said.
"Well, since you're here, I believe I can't let you leave." The Main Man shrugged, "but I'll happily answer your questions before you die."
Amalda gulped and nodded, "I know. I'm turning myself in for the freedom of the flock and answers."
"Very well." The Main Man said.
"Now answer me truthfully: Where was I born?" Amalda asked. There was silence, "you've told me I was born in a test tube, but I've been getting visions."
"I warned you about that side-effect." The Whitecoat whispered to the Main Man, but he just simply ignored it.
"Well, my dear, in your last few minutes, you've been good enough to earn yourself a final story time." The Main Man said as he stood up, adjusted his coat, then started pacing, "ten years ago, the Whitecoats and I arose from the ashes. We came together to form the Phoenix Mission. We arose from the ashes, and we built the School 2.0. From there, we conducted new experiments and procedures, not realizing that I was an experiment myself. A clone." The Main Man cleared his throat, "we were making progress, but we needed more. We needed more test subjects. Greater test subjects. And the flock's appearance two weeks later was brilliant. Unfortunately, blowing up the building didn't help much, but we got what we wanted."
"I saw that in my vision...but, where were the twins? The only one I saw was the little girl. What's her name? Ally?" Amalda asked.
"That wasn't her. The twins weren't even born yet. That girl was our test subject that we chose. She's been a great addition to our lab, and a great warrior under our command, until she went rogue just a week ago. Such a disappointment." The Main Man shook his head.
"What?! They had another daughter? Who was she?! What was her name?!"
"I believe they called her..." As soon as that name slipped out of his mouth, the image of the little girl flashed in Amalda's head, followed by many more images before that, of her as a child, playing tag with the flock, crying in the arms of her mom, sparring with her dad, even learning to fly. Then her face turned pale, and her voice came out weak and raspy,
"I...I'm the daughter of Max and Fang, aren't I? I'M Phoenix."
