It's always been you (a Harry Styles fanfic)

Date night

My afternoon consisted out of calling and texting Eliza and making homework. It was hard to concentrate on my homework, though. My thoughts were always drifting away to Finn and how our date would go. A part of me was scared because what if he doesn't like me? But the other part was so excited.

I heard the key turn in the lock and the frontdoor opened. I knew it was my dad because it was already 7 pm, so I ran downstairs to greet him.

'How was work?' I asked and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

'Exhausting.' He breathed out and sat down on the couch without even bothering to take his coat off. 'I'm never ever going to work on a sunday ever again. How was your day?'

'Oh you know. The usual.' I tried to keep a straight face but thinking about Finn made me smile.

'Why are you smiling like that?'

'Oh nothing. Just an inside joke.' I smiled even more.

'No it's not. Tell me.' He grinned and poked me in my side.

'Okay fine.' I gave in. I knew I had to tell him sooner or later. 'Finn dropped by after you left.'

'Oh really.' He holded his e extra long to make it sound cheeky.

'And he asked me out.' I continued.

'And?'

'I said yes ofcourse.' I giggled.

'I knew it!' My dad jumped up and down while sitting. Why was my dad so childish and awkward?

'So when is this date?'

'I don't know yet. I gave him my number and he's going to send me the details.

'That's lovely honey.' He kissed my hair. 'I'm gonna go make dinner.'

I know that normal teenage girls don't discuss these things with their dad. But agter my mum died we only had eachother so we became really close. I don't tell him everything because sometimes parents don't need to know everything. But he's the only parent i have left and i'm not planning on shutting him out. My dad had just left the room when my phone lit up. An unknown number, that can only mean one thing.

Hi lacy, how about we have that date tomorrow? I'll pick you up at 6 ;) xx Finn

On the inside i was screaming like a little girl who just got a pink unicorn . But i tried to keep my cool on the outside.

Tomorrow is perfect, i'll be ready. Where are we going? Just so I know what to wear :) xx

It's a suprise. But wear something classy :) xx

That whole evening we texted. Not about anything interesting just the casual stuff. He was so sweet and you could actually have a real conversation with him. Now i was even more looking forward to our date than i already was.

The next day it was monday. Luckily I had no school because it was christmas break, but my dad still had to go to work. Eliza came over and we litteraly spent the entire day looking for an outfit I could wear for the date. It was only then I realised how many clothes I have. She left at 4.30 so I could get ready. I took a shower, dried my brown hair and curled it. I applied some eyeliner and lipgloss. It was 5.30 and I still had to choose between 2 dresses. A navy blue strapless one and another where the top was decorated with black lace and the rest was white.

I couldn't remember when I bought the navy dress, but I could still remember when i bought the other one. It was together with Harry. My grandpa and grandma were celebrating their anniversary and they were going to give a big feast. I asked him to come and ofcourse he said yes, he even promised to go buy a dress with me. It sounded maybe strange. A guy and girl shopping for a dress, but that's just how nice he was. I was standing in front of the mirror with the Harry dress holding up so i could see how it would look on me. Even though the dress gave me so many memories I decided to wear that one because let's face it, i looked really good in it. It was 5.45 and I was finally ready and waiting for Finn to pick me up. Five minutes later I heard the doorbell ring and as I was walking to the door I received a text. I thought it was from Finn saying he was outside, but it wasn't.

Have fun on your date tonight. Wear that black/white dress we bought together, it looks amazing on you.. Xx
