Hey everyone i know i didn't do what i said i would and uploaded early but im an impaitent person and i was excited about uploading again so lucky for you, everyone got an early chapter lol :D.

"You come and convince my mom to resume being an elemental." I demanded completely serious.

"Lexi, I don't know if..." he tried to get out but I cut him off, a withering glare shining in my eyes.

"Fine, I'll do what I can but I can't promise anything." my soon to be mentor said sounding slightly defeated.

"Okay then, it's a deal." and we shook hands.

"Well, seeing as this is a dream and people can only dream for so long and I can only hold sway over your dream for only a limited amount of time I think I might need to leave before I get kicked out. Before I could protest, he was changing back into an owl and flying away into the mist that was seeping into the clearing. I felt my body gaining its solid form and I will admit it was really creepy. As the pieces of the real world seeped into my sub consciousness and invaded my vision flickering from one channel to another like an old rundown TV, I felt myself being pulled back into my body and when I landed, I hit hard. The breath was knocked out of my lungs and I straightened up forgetting I was in a tree and then there was nothing below me and I was falling, certainly to my death.

"Holy antelopes!" I screamed. I had an inkling of hope left of being paralyzed when I heard my uncle's voice in my head.

"Lexi, its okay, just shift."

A wave if determination swept over me and I saw a mental image of a hawk, in the back of my head, flying into the woods behind my house. Feathers started sprouting out of my skin as my bones shrunk and changed shape. It hurt like bloody hell. I opened my mouth about to let out a scream of pain when it came out as a piercing call of a hawk. I spread out my wings and flapped for all I was worth. Apparently, this was going to be a lot harder than I thought because I shot high up into the sky barely missing the overhanging limbs that blocked my way to freedom. As I rose higher and higher, I began to understand why they use the term bird’s eye view. The view spread out beneath me was absolutely amazing. After rising around four hundred feet I started searching for my house because the sun was already beginning to rise.

With the warm rays of the rising sun rained down on my back, I flew as hard as I could towards home hoping I would be there in time for me to get ready for school. Of course I would have to deal with telling my mom where I had been, yeah that's not gonna be much fun. Maybe I'll just act like I stayed at Emili's last night, okay so I need to get in without her knowing it.

"I can get in through my window if I left it unlocked," I told myself. Arriving at my bedroom window just 5 minutes before my alarm was set to go off I was pleased to see my window open. I dove in hoping to land all gracefully like ninja as I changed back into my human form. To put it bluntly, I looked like a new born foal taking its first steps. I hit the ground head first sliding into my bed, limbs flailing every which way. It made plenty if noise as the inertia of my body whacked into my bed at such a high speed slid it several feet across my room. Through it all, my mom managed to sleep through all the crashing I had just created. I stood up rubbing my back and head.

"That will definitely leave a nasty bruise."  Walking to my closet and pulling out a pair of black skinny jeans and a gray one shouldered top, I ran into the bathroom pulling them on in frenzy. I looked into the mirror to see the disaster that was my hair. Leaves, dirt, twigs, and feathers were tangled, no matted into my long black locks. I took out a brush and a can of detangler and attacked the mess upon my head. After a painstaking twenty minutes, and several handfuls of hair I walked out of the bathroom feeling quite refreshed. Dashing to my chest that I keep my jackets in, I grabbed my black leather motorcycle jacket and tossed it onto my body. Next shoes. Back to the closet and I pulled on my favorite pair of shoes, my black, knee high, leather combat boots.

"Heck yeah!" I said looking into my mirror. Surprisingly the ever permanent black circles that had made their home under my eyes for the past six years had magically disappeared. I put on my eyeliner, a pair of feathered earrings and my purple cameo. Going to grab my school bags I realized I had left them in the woods. I cursed under my breath. I walked down the steps like a ninja and succeeded in not making a single board creak. I did a small happy dance at the base of the stairs, grabbed a box of chocolate chip cookies out of the cupboard and walked out the front door. Before I could take two steps, I tripped and fell flat on my face.

Turning around to see what I was about to smash into little pieces, I saw my school bags. I smiled I'm loving my uncle right about now. For once, I had got done about forty-five minutes before the bus had arrived. I was about to start walking when I felt a tingling in my sub-consciousness  the more I paid attention to it the louder it got until I could hear it whispering one word, cheetah! I dropped my school bag at the bottoming my feet and brought a memory back from when I was six of when I went to the zoo in Charlotte. Before I knew it, my back bone was curving and my fingernails were becoming claws. It didn't hurt as much this time but my muscles were still very sore. I picked up my bag in my jaws and started running in the direction that I knew I would find my school. After about a ten minute run, I could see my school approaching between the trees. I stopped in my tracks dropping my bag and I shifted back. My once spotted coat sank back into my skin and my claws retracted back into smooth pale fingernails. My canines shrunk and my eyes changes back to their normal shape. I picked up my bag smoothed down my clothes and walked up to my own personal prison.

*************♪♫♪***************

My first two classes flew by as Emili, Ash, and I got along perfectly together. As much as I hate to admit it, Ash was right about us being the three musketeers. He is in my English, World History, PE, and Math class. Emili is in my English, Geometry, Art, and Biology class. For once, I didn't get in trouble in Mr. Parsons class, Emili told Ash that it was a miracle. In all honesty it is. My musketeers and I went through our day set on driving our instructors insane. They kind of deserve it though, giving us piles of home work on the weekends but assigning scratch during the week when we have a super early curfew. I swear they are demons in a human shell, but I know better. It's probably kids like Ash, Emili, and I that have caused their mind to deteriorate into a shallow bowl of hate. Crap, I just zoned out during Em's conversational rant that was apparently one-sided.

“ ... and that's why you two would make such a good couple." finished Emili.

"Wait, what?" I said, completely caught off guard.

"Have you not been listening to a thing I've been saying?" asked Em' with a stern look, hands on her hips.

"Um.... No?" I squeaked fearing her reaction. Luckily, Ash came up and saved me from Em's outburst.

"Hey Lexi, hey Red." ash said with a smile as he jogged up to us. I felt a pang of jealousy as I realized that he called Emilie by a new nickname. His nickname for her.

"Hey Ash" Emili responded with a peppy voice. I heard myself growl deep within my stomach. Ash looked at me knowingly while Emili just stared at me like I had lost my mind.

"Um sorry... I gotta be somewhere." I gulped out. He couldn’t know; there is no way in phooey snot that he could know.

"Rogha cinniúint an!" I heard someone shout.

"What the flipping hell?" I know that people were staring at me from the randomness of my outburst. I started walking keeping my eyes trained on the ground. I was almost to my bus when an image of Ash flashed in my head. It startled me so much that I fell over face first. I cursed and pushed myself up off the ground while I heard people mutter under their breath something along the lines of druggie. Yeah I don't have the best reputation with the rest of the student body. Again I heard "Rogha cinniúint an!” but this time I could locate where it was coming from. The same place that hinted about the cheetah. It was coming from me, my subconscious.
