"What the bloody hell is this?" I raised my brown eyebrows.
"Its-its a phone number?" Some random teenage kid muttered.
"Why are you giving this ruddy piece of paper to me? Do I even know you?" I snapped.
"Um... No. But you could get to know me." he winked at me.
"Or not." I handed him back the piece of paper with a chicken scratch number on it.
"You are a real bitch." Kat spoke, wide-eyed.
"Some random, pot head looking kid, just came and stuffed his number in my back pocket! What would you do, Mrs. Love-Advice-Lady?"
"Be kinder, and say no thanks I have a boyfriend. Or something along those lines." Kat bit her lip, thinking.
"He stuck it in my ruddy back pocket?" I raised my eyebrows, and then roared with laughter with Kat.
"I can't believe you just did that to Nate, and then Nate has to watch a guy stick something in your back pocket!" Kat said, suppressing a giggle.
"Of course, that's what he deserves. Trying to play me, he's a git." I snorted.
"Git?"
"Its British."
"I see." Kat raised her thin eyebrows, "Sounds like an insult."
"You are correct there, best friend." I smiled.
"I dont think I'm a gat." a male country voice said behind me.
I frowned, "Gat? Please. Guh-it. Git. G-I-T." I laughed, turning around to face Nate.
He was so handsome, "Oh, well sorry. I didnt mean to not be amazing like you." he smirked.
I frowned, "You just think you're brilliant, don't you? Just ruddy brilliant?"
"Well, I wouldn't say that. I'd just say smart, good with words. Maybe even charming?” he flashed an award winning smile.
I sighed. “Possibly. But highly doubtful.” I bit the inside of my cheek.
“I’ll leave you two alone.” A voice said from behind me. No other than the brightly blonde that is Kat.
“Oh no, Kat. You don’t Have to leave. Just stay here, its no—“ I started, but then rudely interrupted.
“Oh, of course you would, cause your so sweet. Good best friend y’all got there.” Nate smiled, thrusting his thumb towards Kat.
“Bye, then.” Kat smiled, then whispering to me: “I’ll meet you at the food court when you’re done.”
“Hmph.” I sighed, and turned to face Nate. “You have extremely bad grammar,” Nate raised his brows, “Well, ‘y’all’ stands for ‘you all’ and you said ‘good best friend “y’all” got there’. I’m only one. So it doesn’t really apply—“
“You know, your still cute while you rambling on about stupid English.” Nate half smiled, revealing a small dimple on his left cheek.
“…I…Well. Good-good for me.” I blinked. The way he cut me off would be insulting to me with any other guy; but with him it was…. Cute.
“So, you forgive me?” he smiled.
I blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. “F-forgive? For what?” I bit my tongue for stuttering.
“Ya know. The girl over there.” He snorted under his breath, sounding triumphant.
I quickly gathered my composure, “No. No, I don’t. That was a very git-like thing to do. You know that, don’t you? And I know we aren’t bloody dating but still. It doesn’t matter. I don’t like that. Choose a girl. Me or her.” I said, quickly. I took a deep breath; prepared for him to look at me like I was stupid, I turned on my heel and started towards the food court.
“You.”
“Ex-excuse me?” I stood at a halt, not turning around but staring ahead of me.
“I choose you.”
I blinked again, and took another deep breath and turned around. I had gotten a good five or so foot away from Nate, but when I turned around he was standing there. Right in front of my face. “Me?”
“Yes; you Hero. I would rather date you than that hoe-skank.” He smiled at my instant confusion, “I was telling her I like someone else. She is just friendly. That’s all. Now y’all don’t worry about her anymore, kay?”
I nodded, and smiled. “Well, glad that’s settled. I’m going to the food court. See you at school?” It was more of a question than a statement, but he got the gist.
“Of course, I can barely go a day without talking to Superwoman.”
“Whatever. Of course, you’d bloody say that.” I frowned.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean somehow you always seem to say the damn near perfect thing. We are not in a bloody movie.” I snapped.
“I know.” He smiled, “But I try my best to live up to expectations.”
“Oh God.” I walked away rolling my eyes. Though, I couldn’t help the sensation of butterflies batting their dumb wings in my stomach.

"You believe he said that?" I smiled, rolling over on my bed.
"Yes." Kat said, flatly.
"What? How?" I frowned, rolling back over looking at her sitting cross-legged in my chair.
"Well, its typical guy. Boys can never, RARELY, choose which one they want. Not til they thought they lost them a hundred percent."
"Well, what if he thought he lost me a hundred precent?" I raised a brow, feeling rather good about my arguement.
"He knew that he hadnt lost you. You freaking stuttered!" Kat exclaimed.
"Oh, that's rubbish. And you know that." I frowned.
"Whatever. You like Nate so much that you are denying the facts. The 'bloody' facts, Hero. FACTS." Kat giggling, at using my word 'bloody'.
"You are worthless." I laughed back.
"I am full of worth, darling." she winked.
"No, all you do is text Collin."
"Speaking of him. I set you guys up for a meeting next week. You are going to talk through things." Kat looked up, looking pleased.
"A WHAT!?"
